FOR the second year running two-time Cheltenham Festival winner Cue Card will miss the meeting. The 2010 Champion Bumper winner was a 6-1 shot for the Ryanair Chase, which he won in 2013. Trainer Colin Tizzard told the Racing Post on Tuesday morning: "He won't be going to Cheltenham. He's got a small wind problem that will be sorted today and he should be all right for Aintree. "He's having the wind op today - a little correction - and everybody says he'll be fine in a week, but he won't be going to Cheltenham. "He's started making a little noise in the last few days." The news is a bitter blow for Tizzard as Cue Card - the star of his Dorset stable - missed Cheltenham 12 months ago after pulling muscles in his back. He returned to action this term, but has not hit his previous heights, finishing fourth in the Haldon Gold Cup and Betfair Chase and fifth in the King George VI Chase last time. Tizzard, however, hopes to get him fit for Aintree's Grand National meeting where the 2m4f Grade 1 Melling Chase would be a likely target. Ryanair favourite Don Cossack hardened to a general 3-1 for the Grade 1 as a result of the news, which could also mean connections of other horses opt for the race, especially with last year's winner Dynaste also ruled out.
