We are in the home stretch as they say with 10 games remaining. I thought maybe a poll on where we will finish the season might be interesting.
Finish with 34-38 points I think, where in the table we'll finish I've no idea, hopefully at least 17th
I'm going to say 1st! Other than that I have no idea, nor do I intend to guess, the way this season has gone, anything can happen. We've chucked so many points away that it's just not funny anymore, at the same time we've picked up points in places I never thought we would. This is why predicting City results & betting on them are such a pain for me.
We couldn't have asked for a better set of results today (well maybe more goals scored against the relegation contenders) and had we and West Brom done the business yesterday, it would look even better. I'm saying seventeenth but hoping for better. As others have stated, there's always some weird results at the end of the season and I'm hoping for but not banking on points from top end clubs coming to the KC.
33-35 points will easily be enough to stay up at the rate teams are collecting points. We beat Leicester and Burnley and we're fine. Points against Swansea, Soton, Palace also feasible.
Just quietly if we beat Leicester we'll have as many points as we did last season from the same amount of games played.
We'll manage our highest ever league finish and win a historic third consecutive season for the first time.
I quite arrogantly made a bet with my Everton supporting friend that we'd finish above them, so anywhere above them would be nice as I would rather not be £200 down and have him winding me up all summer.
Games on last day of the season including Villa at home to Burnley and Leicester at home to QPR could be fascinating. I hope we are out of the dog fight and clear by then!
Didn't we have a thread at the beginning of the season on this? I think I picked 17th and I'll stick with that. Looking back on our unbelievable bad luck with injuries and 'last 10 minute' goals against us we should have had at the very least another 12 points and been mid-table (and safe). Should we escape then I believe there will be some serious off-loading at seasons end in an effort to secure some depth to our first choice players.
Funny thing regards city, is that we struggle against team around us, but up our game against teams from the top half for me the return of Mo Diame is vital, a midfielder with a eye for goal.
You bet £200 we'd finish above them? I know it's not looking too bad value at present but still, are you insane?
Depends on Leceister away. Win that, and I think we can finish 15th. Lose or draw, and at best we'll scrape survival, in for a nervous final day. We have to play all but one of the top 7 in our last ten matches. On the other hand, Leicester are done for, Burnley's next four matches will get them nowt, and QPR's away form is dismal, I can't see them picking up more than 6-7 points in remainder of season. If we equal that and get 33-34, we'll make it.
I'd snap your hands off for 17th right now. Think if we can get 6 points reasonably quickly we'll be fine. But it's how long it takes to get those points is the main thing that's worrying me.
A group of us are going on a stag do in a few months, I said the loser of the bet has to pay the other persons flights (expecting them to be £50-£100), we shook on it, then we went check the flights online and they are just over £200 for the dates we need them! If I'd have known I certainly wouldn't have made the bet.
I'm not sure were we will finish. As it is QPR and Burnley need to collect 6 more and Leicester 9 more points than us with 10 games to go. I know QPR have an extra game but it looks a big ask to me to achieve that.
Of course we have to play 2 of those teams still so they will be looking at that game with us as a way to pick up 3 points on us right there.
