Well they lost today but they will give us problems I believe. It will be quite different from yesterday. Everton played with some skill and much enthusiasm and Lukaku found the Arse goalie on top form to deny him a goal. The toffees have only won three away so far , just hope we won't be the fourth. The only weak link , Jagielka, but I would take a draw right now.
I hoped for 4 pts from these two home games so a point against Everton would achieve that. Everton will look to attack and are unlikely to 'park the bus' so it should be a more open game and they could cause us problems. However, they are not in good form in the league and I think we can afford to go for it. I don't rate their defence particularly and I see no reason for us to fear them. Let's increase the gap from us to them to 14 pts and keep Everton where they are currently.
If we win this game (and I think we have a good chance of it), we will have Shawcross, Ireland back from injury after the FA cup games. Odemwingie is very close to his return too so who knows what points we will end up with.
Just need to try and keep the momentum going, and as you say with key players returning over the coming weeks we could have a really good run in.
Tobes, As much as I like Everton, this is a great chance for us to get another win. Lakaku scares the crap out of me though, wish we had him in our team. Let's hope he has left his scoring boots in Europa League! I doubt you will come to defend, as Hull did. So, it should be an open game. All the best after tonight.
We can't defend set pieces mate and Howard is playing like he's wearing clown shoes at the minute, so that doesn't bode well for a visit to the Brit. I fully expect us to be out fought and out thought tonight. Martinez is on his last legs at Goodison if we get the fully anticipated beating tonight.
I hope you are right, of course, but I think it could be difficult for us tonight. A win could put is in 8th depending upon other results tonight so the incentive is there. However Everton are perhaps due an upturn in form and could get a point. Martinez often does well at the Brit. As for him being under threat if they lose, I doubt it as Everton don't chop and change managers like some teams do. I would be reasonably happy with a point
Yay, great win. I gave my dad my season card tonight in a cunning ploy to get him to agree to getting one next season (the experiment of making my boy love Stoke has failed somewhat and he doesn't want to renew). I'm glad the game was a good un as that will have helped my plan no end!
Zoz, Firstly I hope you get your season ticket, we renewed on Tuesday. To be honest, Everton played quite well first half, without really hurting us. Then, Moses scores with a brilliant header. 2nd half more even. In all a decent game, and in fairness I can not see Everton getting dragged into a relegation battle. We are now 8 the which given we have so many injuries is a fantastic effort. Now we can enjoy the rest if the season, play without fear, who knows how far we can go! One very happy Stoke fan.
I am so glad that my pessimism was unfounded. I must try and be more positive. A great night for us and just the result we wanted. But the result I want most dearly , even more than beating the Arse , is our next game , WBA & Clulis , no offence Baggies fans.
Kosk, I really hope we beat them, he will be telling them that they are underdogs and we have better players and all the **** he used to serve up to us.
He may even say be saying " it's a privilege just to be on the same pitch as Stoke City, look how far they (us) have come "
Good win for us yesterday, pleased to see both Stoke and Stevenage doing well Good way to bounce back yesterday, especially after shipping 8 against City and Blackburn and then getting 9 points out of 9 against Villa, Hull and Everton. I would have been happy with 6 points but 9 is brilliant! Looks like we can even finish 7th (at a push) but hopefully we will at least get 8th. Should be back and forth on here as a result of school work being a
another great performance by us, we look really good even with so many injuries. A few weeks off now to get some injured players back on the available list. up the potters
I expect T.P.s pre match interview to be nothing new to Stoke fans, in short, as boring as the footie we played most of the time. Problem with him is simple, he can't change and never will. Can we make it 4 wins straight? Yes, if we play well. To me it's just one more away game. KTF one and all!
