He is about 56 to be fair <yikes>

I think Leicester fans are pretty happy with him, certainly could name 10-20 other signings who are more of a flop than him,

    Not that old lol

I could name a few but most aren't capable of the level he is.

It was a bit of a left field choice I must admit.

    In no particular order:

    Lovren
    Balotelli
    Long
    Riviere
    Defoe
    Mangala
    Di Maria
    Welbeck
    Shaw
    Fernando
    Fazio
    Cleverly on loan?

I've seen Welbeck mentioned a few times, but I'm not sure that he fits into this category. He hasn't been some amazing signing by any stretch of the imagination but he is a decent squad option, works hard and only cost us £16m. Seems he has filled the gap we signed him for. Some people maybe expected to see him try and push Giroud for a starting place but Giroud has been banging in goals so no complaints here.

I wouldn't big up his signing particularly but I wouldn't put him in with the flops either. Just an average signing.

I see where you're coming from and he's definately not the worst flop on the list. I just thought he would be pushing for a starting place, but it just doesn't look that way.

That reminds me though - Sanogo for Palace.

If he's not in you can't put Balotelli in either

Balotelli it felt was expected to walk straight into your first team and be a really important player. But he's struggled to even get on the pitch. He was always going to be a risk though so you could argue he shouldn't be included based on the prior assumption that he might be a flop anyway because of his attitude.

Whereas Welbeck was brought in as a squad option rather than first team replacement.

I do get your point though :)

Balotelli was called a gamble by Rodgers since day one. No way he was expected to be an important first teamer.

I meant by fans and the media rather than Rodgers who clearly doesn't rate him that highly. That's how it felt to me at the time anyway, it may well be that yourself and others felt he was going to be a huge risk all along and so don't view him as a massive flop.

To be fair if you're claiming that about Balo, then it's fair to put Welbeck in that category, seeing as his only real competition is Giroud and many were excited about seeing him in his "natural" position, a lot of people expected it to be Sturridge mk2.

The general feeling among the Arsenal fans I know was of being underwhelmed by the Welbeck signing. But some hope that he would take some pressure off Giroud.

After his handful of goals in his first few games and his hat trick some people raised there expectations for sure, but based on the initial reaction you'd have to say Welbeck has hit about the level expected. A decent squad player.

  18. Assuming Welbeck can only pay CF of course, which we all know isn't the case.

I thought Falcao would be a brilliant addition to the league but has been a major disappointment

Di Maria was good at Madrid but been a shadow of that player. might look better when utd start to show some tactical nous.

Lovren has struggled to adapt to his new team so you could say a flop so far but Lallana, to my mind has been good, put in a shift when played and shown some good skills and touches. not top notch but no where near a flop.

Welbeck has been terrible. He left Man U because he wasn't being played as a striker so Arsenal gave him the chance and he then can't score in a brothel. He now gets put on the wing where he can run around and work hard.

He's like Dirk Kuyt and I never liked Kuyt.
