He's been picked out a lot lately, on here and in the ground. I'm not saying he isn't untidy at times, he is, but I think he is the best drive from midfield we have, and his physical presence and guts are a constant problem for teams. He's also a goal threat. I think when the chips are down, he seems to be the one who takes the flak, and I just think it's unjustified.
Dawson Robertson N'Doye. If Hudd had carried on like his performance in the first half he'd have got in too, but his passing went a bit off in the second 45 mins.
1. Dawson - An absolute man mountain again. 2. Robertson - Made Vergini **** himself every time he got on the ball, one of the only players to run at their back 4. 3. Huddlestone - Had a shocker on Saturday and was back in form today, he made us tick, unfortunately Livermore and Meyler lost us the 2 points today. Both put in enough effort and drive, however they showed no quality, they're just expensive Dean Marney's.
Thought the two Sunderland full backs were proper dog, Robbo & Elmo murdered them both. It was the lack of finish after their good work that ****ed us.
Meyler is the current boo-boy. Hull City fans always have to have one and it's a little sad -- especially for someone who works so hard for the Hull City cause. Personally I thought he had a good game and Phil Buckingham -- one of the HDM's better City scribes -- gave him 7 out of 10. No-one was given a higher score.
Not the best people to be giving advice though are they. Against Newcastle at the start of the game I was surrounded by people saying, he's ****, don't give it to him, he's ****ing useless. That was for several different players.
Dawson- his reading of the game was fantastic. Mind you Defoe didn't have the greatest of nights with the lack of support from their players, until Wickham came on. Robertson- great down the wing. Pity nobody could finish his crosses off. Elmo- runs & crosses deserved better from the forwards.
I'm glad Wickham didn't start, or the lad who replaced Cattermole. They were Sunderland's best two players by a country mile.
Dawson - some of the things some people said about him before we signed were ridiculous. Class. N'Doye - just a very good footballer. Elmo - more consistent than Robertson. Totally agree - his passing was excellent in the first half, but in the second it went well awry.
One situation, Livermore should of shot when Elmo pulled it back for him but instead he gently rolled the ball back to their keeper. I'd imagine Rodwell would of blasted that into the roof of the net. Second situation, I can't be entirely specific as I can't remember exactly what happened, but Meyler received the ball in their area and then proceeded to be forced out the box until he had to pass it back to Robertson. We were in the ascendancy yet he wasted it. He could of either shot first time or put a slight dinked ball into the area for N'Doye to attack it. Two clear opportunities both players should of done a lot better with. Both of their decision making tonight was appalling, not just these two situations.
Dawson Robbo Elmo Wasn't easy leaving Huddlestone and Livermore out of my three - best I've seen them both play in yonks. Can't wait to see big Mo back against Leicester though.
1) Huddleston 2) Dawson 3) Robertson. Good going forward early, neat quick passing & pressure all round. When killer 2nd goal didn't come we got involved in a scrappy game where passes went amiss & Sunderland pushed us back which yet again made us lose any rhythm. Hope 2morrows results don't hurt 2 much ctid.
No upset from me, my phone went flat! With the new system I can track votes so use this one and I'll count around the weekend. Meyler was gash, he's got the touch of a rapist. My vote: Robbo N'Doye Huddlestone
I obviously know a lot more than you then if you seem to think I know **** all. Care to give me an example of how amazing Livermore and Meyler were? They showed no quality in vital positions, we could of put the game to bed but at vital times of the match they either gave it away or didn't show any quality.
