Well yeah, I was saying that Davis' style of play was more effective under Pochettino (and playing with Lallana, Lambert ecc.). He has the capacity to produce the kind of pass we're looking for, but this year our style of play to me doesn't seem to suit him. I don' know if he made maybe one or two assists this season. By direct in this instance I meant playing a direct throughball in behind the defence. I don't expect them to run at people, but to seek that defence splitting pass more often.

Honestly surprised that Pelle's starting here, given that it's on short rest and after a match where he was rather awful. You know better than I do Ron, but I'm a bit dubious of this one.
I think it is either that Long isn't fit enough to start or the Pelle is virtually undroppable in Ron's eyes
Their attack has a lot of pace so our shield needs to be better than it was last time we played Palace at home.
I think Ron has been very sensible with the way he's brought players back into the team after injury. If you bring them on as a substitute you control how long they play, if you start them you're tempted to keep them on too long and risk an injury.
