We play the geordies tomorrow evening, expect lots of fat men wearing no coats or shirts regardless of the weather. Anything could happen, anything, but it's fair to say we have to win.
Tempted to watch I have BT Sports in the back room which means the wife wont moan about me watching it.
I expect tomorrow we will play another high possession game. Hopefully at a pace similar to the last game if not higher. I reckon we will see more examples of over hit corners and the ball being recycled back to the keeper before we start again. Even more examples of getting into seemingly good positions and going back or side to side. Obviously we try and avoid low percentage plays. Where the likelihood of success is low. Falcao v 2 giant cb's probably means whipping a cross into the box is futile. Its not bad football. Its certain boring as hell a lot of the time but its quite sensible in terms of reducing risk. Its nothing like we are used to either. Adding Fellaini to the attack has actually allowed us to return to a more familiar style. Get in wide and in the box type stuff. While lvg doesnt have the personnel to have us playing his normal way we will probably see morr of Fellaini and a more direct approach, especially later in games. I have no doubt we will see the above tomorrow and for the rest of the season. Not until the summer do I see it changing for the better. I hear Depay is ours, at least the chatter in holland suggest so (rumours but cocu has stated Depay is leaving in the summer). He will see a move to 433 and 4231 along with a b2b midfielder. We need a striker too. We need to win tomorrow. Liverpool have an easy game and their tails are up. The best way to knock them down now is to keep winning. Regardless of how its done.
You're forgetting Southampton UIR, as it stands only a point behind Utd and with a much easier run in, there's plenty more twists and turns left regardless of what happens tomorrow.
I keep seeing wishful thinking from people writing Southampton off, thinking they will quietly fade away. Aint going to happen
Great team selection, but Mata or falcao should have been in for fellaini. Fellaini should always be a plan B.
De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Evans, Rojo, Blind, Herrera, Di Maria, Fellaini, Young, Rooney. Subs: Lindegaard, Jones, McNair, Carrick, Mata, Januzaj, Falcao.
