Looking at our fixtures we have a really tough run in after our next two games, the only other realistic game to look to win is Burnley. Sunderland (H) Leicester (A) Chelsea (H) Swansea (A) Saints (A) Liverpool (H) Palace (A) Arsenal (H) Burnley (H) Spurs (A) Man United (H) Not an easy run in by any stretch, think 3 wins and a draw will do us, so for me Sunderland Leicester and Burnley are the 3 to win of course, then hopefully you can get a point at Swansea or Palace(not easy).
Southampton away isn't easy, but it looks like they're faltering a bit and won't get a top 4 spot. I think there's a possibility we could get a point. Swansea will be safe/mid table, you'd think we will be more up for it than them. Again hopefully a point or an unexpected win. We are due a result from Burnley and Palace. We have to aim for a win at Leicester and at home to Sunderland. Also think we have a chance of nicking a point at Spurs away. Equally Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal at home, you'd hope we can get a point from at least one of those if we play to our best.
Don't forget we have got points away at Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Man City this season. Have some faith, we can play quite well when we want to.
You can't target those games to pick up points though, it looks great when you get a point at Arsenal, but it means nothing if you don't beat the likes of Leicester at home.
All the 9 teams in and around us (including us) have four games to play against sides in the bottom 9...These are true 6 pointers and will go a long way to determining who stays up and who goes down.. PS....I'll post those games tonight...then you can work it out for yourselves..
Saying that, We almost took 3 points from Arsenal, Man City & Liverpool. Yes taking points from the teams around us is important, but we are good enough, on our day, to take points from the teams higher up the table. We may lose against Sunderland and get a point from Leicester, but then go on to beat Liverpool and Man-u at home.
Beating Liverpool and Man Utd at home, of course it is possible, anything is possible, but likely? I fear not.. The only team who stayed up by beating teams at the top of the table was Wolves who did it a few seasons ago, since then no one has achieved it. Though Sunderland did win a few games last year when everyone expected them to lose...
