<peacedove>Whatever happens Steve Gerrard is a legend. His name is always going to be one
    of Liverpool famous players.
Currently, some people believe that his legs are failing him and that was why he was not offered
    extended contract last summer.
We have won couple games without him playing: still some people believe that we cannot
get anywhere without him.Gerrard is leaving in the summer, do you think currently the team
is more balanced without him playing.

    it is patently more balanced

everyone is at least in position and working... coutinho has issues second half with intensity especially as system effectively becomes a 5-4-1 when we defend and the wdie forwards drop off if no press is possible.

I see him drop off and just not press too much... put gerrard RF and i can see us having a huge gap down the right side to exploit.

Put him in for henderson and markoivc drops out... put him in for lucas and he won't track runs.

We're a much better side without him - in defence and in attack.

He's a club legend and you can't even spell his bloody surname!. Yes I think the team is more balanced without him, but mainly because most our players become sub-subservient when he's on the pitch and feel the need to play everything through him

Yes if Gerrard in CM or DM. I like him in the role Lallana has mainly been playing lately.

It looks like rodgers has finally realised Johnson is ****e and hopefully he will see that gerrard ,in that DM role just can't cut it anymore. I think when he plays again it will be in that more forward role.
Sad to say but his time is up and it's right that he moves on.

It's a shame because I think Gerrard certainly has a place in the squad (especially when you look at our only midfielder on the bench was young Williams) but that place is probably like Lampard at City.. an impact sub and occasional starter.

Think the way last season finished probably just did what little motivation he had left in him and certainly the end of this season will be best time to leave for both parties. We're playing a new way where it's a team game with no major stars, everyone working hard for each other and not carrying any passengers. Gerrard was is and always will be a legend but he doesn't suit that quick pass and move way that we play.

    Agreed.

As sad is it is, we are better without him in the first 11 and it may be a good time to part companies at the end of the season for all involved.

I think it's a poor decision from Gerrard's point of view, but deals with a looming headache from the point of Rodgers.

Yeah the way BR wants us to play doesn't suit Gerrard in the slightest - he should start the F A Cup games and be an impact sub when we need a goal and play an advanced role only

We've been better without him for the past 3-4 years.

Rodgers has some big decisions to make - will he bring Sakho and Gerrard back in once fit?
