Great Result. Still not there yet obviously this league will punish you if you don't show up although I get the feeling that ain't going to happen under this fellow. I'm starting to believe. On the Tettey booking, very astute no doubt on purpose. I seem to remember Mr Holt kicking someone in the 80 something minute a few seasons ago to get the ban at the right time although I am prepared to be corrected on that.
Does Tettey miss one game or two - the Sky commentator seemed to think it was two as 10 yellow cards?
Tettey is always going to get plenty of yellow cards because of the job he does for us, he protects the defenders and is obviously going to mistime some of his tackles! Histrionics from the fouled striker will persuade many gullible referees that it was stronger than it actually was!
It did look a bit planned, he's openly stated he can't play 3 in a week due to his knees. So would have been unlikely to play both anyway.
He was assured I didn't like him punching away those set pieces but those Ipswich players are big units. He had a bit of bust up with Russell Martin, lip read 'Don't have a go a ****ing go at me' then called him a '****ing prick', we really don't need to argue like that amongst ourselves when we're playing the enemy.
On regards to the central midfield position we can always bring in Dorrens or Vadis and bring Jonno back into that holding role it's not ideal but it makes sense.
How much does anyone think we need squad depth and rotation in the coming weeks - bookings, injuries, horses for courses You thoughts please
And Neil has got the best out of the entire squad so far by knowing how and when to rotate them. This should be no different. Someone on twitter assures me Tettey is out for two games under the card totting-up policy?
It's wasn't very amiable, there was a bit of a communication issue and they both went for the same ball, Martin shouted at Ruddy first, it's hopefully been forgotten about in all fairness.
With Ryan Bennett back in training, Gary O'Neil and Elliot Bennett are our only injuries at the moment, leaving 26 senior players available at the moment. That's including Josh and McGrandles, but not Jacob or Loza or any other young players. We'll see some rotation with Tettey suspended for 2 matches, giving a chance for match time for Dorrans, Andreu and Odjidja-Ofoe. The strikers will probably rotate a bit as well, but I hope we keep the defence together as they seem to be forming a good unit.
He certainly does, take Grabban and Whittaker for an example I thought they were both brilliant today a couple of months ago they were the main target of the boo boys.
Alex Neil just talks so much effing sense "We are now third, three points off the top, and we have still got to play the two sides above us at home. "We have given ourselves a chance, but that is all it is - a chance - and we have got to keep working hard and try to make sure we take it. "The main thing today was picking up the three points, even though I didn't think it was the best of games if I am being honest. "We got the goals and in the end I thought we deserved the win, as we have deserved to win all six of the games in this run." (bbc)
Unfortunate turn of phrase from MM on BBC, "We just have to knuckle down!" I thought a few of his players looked like knuckle draggers tbh!
