£70m spent (plus loan fees for 3 other players) while getting rid of 2 apparently terrible players in Lovren & Lallana yet you're still 2 points behind the team that are currently playing those awful players... how embarrassing
Koeman manged Valencia, Benfica and Ajax in the Champions league. Southampton spent nowhere near 70 million too

Who would of thought that 4 years ago when Southampton were in League 1 that the mighty Liverpool would be using them as a gauge of there own non-success. And BTW these are all official disclosed figures except the Mane one which was estimated at 10 to 11 m.

Yup, even in our least successful spell in the last few decades, we're still one of the top 5/6 clubs in England though and in the last 2 years have played some of the best football and most entertaining in Europe... not all bad for a **** club eh
