Don't think there's now any chance of Palace or WBA going down. Wish to God we'd got Pulis in when he was available. It's not pretty to watch but he virtually guarantees safety
we do a lot better when we don't play..! Burnley at Liverpool Tuesday and Villa home to WBA who are in form and bitter local rivals.. if those 2 go our way we could be 2 games in hand and still out of the relegation zone before our 2 home games this week
Always thought there was a high risk with Sherwood. Him going to Villa could be a massive result for us.
Palace & WBA are almost out of the relegation mix and I'm sure Everton will come through too. The current Premier League table is a real tale of two halves - Chelsea > West Ham / Stoke (39 pts) and WBA / Palace (30 pts) > Leicester (18 pts) with Newcastle in no man's land on 35 pts - wish that could be boring old us in that position. The three teams relegated will likely be from:- Hull - 26 pts Sunderland - 25 pts QPR - 22 pts Burnley - 22 pts Villa - 22 pts Leicester - 18 pts
Two massive games coming up for us now, if we could snatch four points from them we might just get some momentum for the run-in...
Great results today. I wonder though if these results have any bearing on how we will perform Wednesday. Is it a boost that will gear us to play better, a cushion feeling that will result in us not giving the totally committed effort we may have got if Villa and Burnley had gone above us, or did those results have zero impact on how we play Wednesday?
Personally I would view them as a huge incentive to push on and try and get some space between us and 18th. However, I am a player. What is also interesting is to look at the run in for all those six teams. None of them has an easy time culminating in Leicester v QPR and VIlla v Burnley on what is surely to be a very exciting day for the neutrals but a hugely stressful day for us and those around us.
Sadly, I have an awful feeling we will go into the final day with those four teams occupying the bottom four places and one of the final match winners may still go down...
Happy with this result I think....they have got a win (so not as "needy" for a win on Wednesday I am not sure that Everton are not out of the scarabble at the bottom any way Coquelin off injured
....hopefully for us not one of those Reading moments where we shared the relegation honours with Bosingwa smirking his way off the field. please log in to view this image
