Take your point. What if Mig gets injured tho?? We need another top keeper imo to be safe and Jones to go. Totally done with Lovren. Total fraud. Although maybe he was done over by agents etc hyping him. Maybe he'll be spectacular in the latter half of the season and redeem himself. That would be only thing to convince me to keep him around.
His distribution is awful and he's a clanger away from a poor run of form. Granted, he's improved beyond all recognition in the last month but I'l not convinced that he'll sustain it......I hope i'm very wrong......but if he doesn't, who do we have to turn to? Either way, we need another keeper - whether it's a #1 or #2 is debatable
my opinion is that if there's a keeper going fine get them but i'd categories it like ings... its just cheap and not vital but we'll see. I'd buy a better keeper sure but with johnson, gerrard and potentially lucas (if true) going and three dead ducks of forwards. well.... for me i'd want that top line striker and central midfielder and if we got that anything else wuold be a massive bonus in our development Don't get me wrong i'd love us to have every position covered fully... but i feel we have to go big next summer or go home... that includes wages. 100k form johnson and 130k from gerrard off the books, balotelli on 80k, even borini on 60k it all adds up and should mean if the right top player would want to come we can pay the going rate. Even at the back... until toure goes and coates goes and even if lovern was cut loose.. well i can't see more coming in unilt they go. I see wisdom i hope as a player rodgers will consider upon his return. He might even snag richards out of city on a free... who knows. The keepers we've been linked to all all back ups so this is why i'm not really inspired i guess.
We'll have 2 totally different transfer strategies. One with CL qualification and one without. Qualify and I can see 4 decent players coming in, including a marquee signing (either a striker or CM) Don't qualify and it'll be bargain basement, small incremental changes to the squad or maybe just one £30m signing and a couple of bits and pieces/freebies. Qualification for CL is pivotal to our progress.
Or we'll have none at all and buy in a panic on august 14th... when all the good players have been bought already...
Truth is, if there's no CL then we'll be looking for the best of the rest.....so you may not be too far from the truth!
A quality DM yes but not a second CM, we would have the new signing plus Can, Hendo and Allen plus youngsters. Buy a quality CB instead.
Coutinho, Sterling, Ibe and Marko are all very good attacking players able to fulfill that role. The game as moved on from Gerrard's day
Stat shows that he's brilliant at changing the style so that we finish the second half of the season strongly. Stat also shows that he's stubborn and always goes back to his dull, death-by-passing style each season in the hopes that it will magically work when the last three season starts show that it doesn't. If he finally starts a season (providing he's here) the way he ends it, he's got a chance of winning something.
Youve pulled yourselves into the race so credit for that. We have seen your players crack under pressure before though. Obviously the prize was bigger but its possible that may happen again. On the flip side you might have learned from it and therefore wont repeat those mistakes. Could you play for a draw when it was all thats needed though? Or will you get ahead of yourselves at the line and think its done? Thats the test for you guys. You are ahead of us in development terms. Rodgers is in his second full year and is more comfortable with his squad but hes not got it spot on yet. He still tinkers with the squad and formation. I think the table wont changento much now. Just that you and Saints will switch places.
Man Utd ****ting bricks that we now don't have to play in the Europa 2 days before the game with them
