Read here Will be interested to see if MM takes a similar stance to the game earlier in the season where he didn't seemed bothered one way or the other.
There is one aspect of AN's tenure that puts him streets ahead of Paul Lambert - when he speaks you can understand everything he says! With Lambert it was often like Russ Abbott's Scottish character C U Jimmeh!
I have to say Thai that the more I hear of AN the more I like him. He has a passion and that is something that I love in a manager. Sometimes they say stuff and you think yeah whatever, but with him, you feel he is truly galvanising the squad in a way that his predecessor simply couldn't.
I guess like a good few others, following the Brentford game, I was not too sure about his ability although I was happy to acknowledge that it was still early days for him. While I was pleased with the appointment, given what he achieved with Hamilton, he has risen beyond any possible expectation I could have ever had. As Dave said above, not only does he talk very knowledgeably about the game, and has a clear insight as to what he wants - he can convey that message clearly to players, media and fans alike. Should we fail to go up this season, I am still going to love the guy as he has already shown that he is capable of doing very well, circumstances permitting.
As far as Mick is concerned this is just another game and another 3 points and I agree with him completely.
When I saw his interview for the first game I truly wondered if he was going about it in the right way, by playing it down. It's 'our' biggest game of the season but he shrugs it off. As a Town fan, were you happy to see that or would you rather see some passion? I know you could say that it is just his way, and maybe it is. Might explain why he has never progressed above the likes of yourselves and Wolves.
Mick is a wily old bird and it's his way of not letting all the outside noise affect his players. After all said and done this is just another game! It's the fans and the media from both sides of the divide who hype it up. It wouldn't bother me if we lost on Sunday yet gained promotion and I think the same goes for many supporters in both counties!
I'm flying over to the States on Sunday so I wont be involved at all. I won't look at the result until I touch down in LA.
But if you were to see another manager, at another club, would you question any of the following - commitment, desire, passion, ability to fire up the players of any of the positive attributes fans like to see from the teams 'leader'
I know that Warky, but my money would be on you looking up the result at the earliest possible opportunity. No way would you leave it another 2, 3, 4 hours or whatever to find out. (I know I wouldn't want to wait)
I think this is more down to your inferiority complex against us, than us lacking passion. #takingcoverasipost
I think we gave you far too much respect when we played back in August and the whole experience somewhat over awed our players! We wont be making that mistake again.
