Bad thinking? Bullshit. Realistic thinking. Yes. maybe slightly pessimistic I'd accept. Maybe stop trying to ram words into my mouth and you'd get it. I want to lose no less than you. It appears that I'm a tad more realistic though
See lads see? I'm not pessimistic at all #fanboy that's me For all that you who call me negative can bookmark this
Europa league all the way. Fairytale ending for Stevie G on a big european night. Would like to do the lot to be fair
I'm going to completely filo this if I can This is amazing how one decision has changed the opinion in England or at least as represented here from the europa being a complete waste of time to something that is desired again In the past 5 years we have seen many English sides dump this cup ASAP while to my mind only Fulham and chelsea in recent times have really given it a go. Ok swansea might be peeved at that but there you go. Now suddenly dangle the ever loved cl prize and it's now huge The clubs chasing cl are like those digs that chase cars, most have no idea what to do when they catch it.
So do I but your mistake is that you've misread the article. There is no talk of 'prefer to win' just on how you prioritise. Surely, we'd all prefer to win them all or why else are we on here unless we're tobes!?
It's been a fun little argument. Rotation means playing the right players in the right games other than keeping everyone fit. Do we play our so called best players in the PL and then not such a strong squad in the EL? I think it'll be the strongest in both but there may be 1 or 2 changes and the so called strongest 11 will change. Then there's FA Cup and League Cup again we should play the strongest 11 but against so called lesser opposition we may add youth players is this making the cup a lesser priority or is it just that we play a team that should beat the opposition?
How the feck do you get 'identical standards' from the word rotate? There is no correlation between the words rotate and identical. You're just making **** up to make it look like you know what you're talking about! If we rotate Studge and play Sterling again, is that identical? No. It's prioritising which games to play them in and which to rest them. If Coutinho is rested for this game, do you seriously believe that it's because BR doesn't want him fresh for Sunday? (i.e. he's prioritising) As for the rest of the opinionated waffle posted, I repeat, I want to win just as much as you do
It's simple. Coutinho is in everyone's first eleven.....shouldn't get any arguments there. He's fit for 2 out of 3 of the next games. When do you play him? Which games do you prioritise and which game will you accept an increased risk of a negative result because you don't play him. I'll repeat before it's rammed down my neck again, I want to win all games too.
I said this in a different thread, but the idea does seem to stick that it's about resting people when it's more to do with tactical flexibility. I don't see how resting them could have avoided the injuries to say, Sakho or Lucas. By all means rest players that are showing signs of burn-out, but imo it's a false hope that rotation will avoid injuries that are entirely unforeseeable anyway. Apart from that, we still have limited options in many areas, and playing what amounts to a weaker side should be anathema to a club like ours.
Beggars can't be choosers. We don't have the depth of squad (yet) to be able to 'rotate' whilst retaining absolute quality. But we are getting there. There's a fundamental difference between sending a team out knowing that they'll struggle and sending a team out with the full belief that, while not your strongest team, it should be more than enough to dispose of the opposition. The more we play at this level, the more we'll have to get used to it. Our 'first 11' cannot play in every game between now and the end of the season without risking severe tiredness and/or injury. Let's face it, regardless of this debate, it's a nice problem to have
To my mind rotate in a metaphorical sense would mean anything rotated should look the same Plus I am just at this point saying **** for the sake of it Seriously though the article does want a choice which is why I added the all option I said prior to semi v Chelsea a treble like 2001 would be nice. Now I say having seen us give everything we could that a double would be great and am sure if we get done over it won't be cos we won't try our best But serious point it's not just cos city are coming that coutinho is left home it's 19 games in a row and finally not as many subbings. If it were burnley Instead id still say somehow he's not going to go to Turkey The question is... Is lallana, sterling, sturridge as effective as coutinho, sterling, sturridge and who will play in place of Henderson
Of course not. Which is why I said by all means rest players who are showing signs of needing it ( like sending Sterling away for instance- and look how the media tried to whip up a ****storm over that, btw ). I know we're not the dominant force we were in the past, but we still need ambition, and unless we're going to do our best in competitions there's no point in being in them. I'm not trying to be picky, but I think there's a difference between rotation and fitness management, even though they may overlap.
Yes, the article didn't have the 'easy option' of prioritise them all for a reason. Who deosn't want to win them all? I remember when I played for the school volleyball team and the serve and players rotated and i was always happy when the little fat guy who couldn't jump was at the net. Rotation has nothing to do with symmetry or equity. It's just a motion
