We've recalled Roberts from the Heed, where he's barely played. How in the name of fcking christ is Callum Roberts needed in our current sh1tty situation? Mental. I mean, WHY recall him? What's he going to do? Surely we have Cabella, Obertan, Aarons, Gouffran, and even Gutierrez ahead of him. Fair enough if he was a CB or full back, yet he ain't.

 

He's left footed, do maybe it's to provide cover at left-back.

 

I'm going to put my money down that something shady is happening when we report our profits. Realistically it should be around 40m and thats with him getting free advertising! Once the new TV deal kicks in he could potentially make 70m in profit a season. I fail to see why you all think he would ever sell? MA made his nut with NUFC. Who cares if Freddy Shephard was paying himself 2m a year, at least we knew he'd spend the 70m.

 

Although I hated Shepherd, one does wonder what NUFC would be doing under him right now. YankMag is right, if we were making £50m, we'd be spending at least £50m on players. I never thought I'd see the day when Shepherd would be a better option, but with the revenues making it so much easier to balance books without the need to over-reach or over-borrow, a mix of pragmatism with ambition would be great to see right now.

 

I remember when ashley said we were to balance the books. If only we would balance them and actually spend our profits.

One other thing to look out for in the accounts is players' salaries. If players' pay is linked to TV money/turnover in their contracts then payments would go up and the profit wouldn't be quite as high as expected. Profit should still be pretty huge though for last season.

 

Is cabella fit for saturday?
Will aarons sign a new contract? If we don't pay this kid that could be a lot of money walking out the door.
