You are entitled to your opinion. Others are entitled to give their opinion of your opinion. You really do act like a big kid at times. When I was younger apart from being inquisitive being hard bitten was a prerequisite for being a journalist. Seems that is no longer the case,
Absolute disgrace, potentially could have been a career ending tackle right under the nose of the referee and he does fk all, then the FA do as it says on the tin (as it says in the letters FK ALL). They must be the most spineless organisation going, but I will guarantee that Jose will be fined/banned for his outburst on Sky, pretty much saying what every football fan felt about the incident. Bunch of clowns.
If the rules need changing - and obviously some of them do given this decision - is it not the FA who are responsible for changing them? Whichever way you look at it the FA come out of this looking like a shambles.... Too many referees base their decision on how injured the player was - not the severity of the tackle If Matic had his bones broken the ref would have sent Barnes off - but because Matic was fine the ref let it go - it's bullshit but it's how a lot of them ref
Sean Dyche is defending Barnes and said he got part of the ball. Is that ginger, raspy-voiced Phil Mitchell impersonator blind?
Why should he be banned? Retrospective punishments for offences of this nature are not for me. A headbutt? Sure. Gobbing on Matic? Ban the ****er. A mistimed tackle? No.
Do you even know what aspergers is, drunkard? I would attack your various mental conditions, but there's too many to list. Also I'm not really up for derailing a thread, which seems to be all you are after, alcy.
I see the incident occurred at a ground called Aggborough, perhaps Aggroborough would be more appropriate. That said, I can understand the retaliation as the initial challenge was disgusting.
I'd love to see what he wrote about it in his report. He didn't even give a free kick until Matic reacted.
Rob Harris @RobHarris Burnley have removed public access to YouTube video of Dyche responding to Mourinho on Saturday's incident.
Match delegate Steve Greaves reported that referee Martin Atkinson got all his decisions right in Chelsea's controversial match against Burnley. (Sun - subscription required) So that is alright then eh!
Rob Harris @RobHarris Clarification: Matic's suspension reduced to 2 games, but Chelsea disappointed it wasn't reduced further. Either it was a red, or it wasn't, it should have been rescinded.
I think it was right to send him off. His reaction was understandable but still unacceptable. The injustice is Barnes getting off with no punishment.
Barnes getting away with it is probably the most disgraceful thing that has happened so far this season. By not punishing him in any way it essentially says that these career-ender challenges are fine in the ref's eyes.
I can't follow the FA's logic with the Matic decision. He was sent off for violent conduct which is a statutory 3 game ban. But now only 2 games. It's either violent or not, I'm sure there's nothing in the rules about been provoked after a bad challenge. Have the FA re-written their laws since Saturday ?
