Spot on. You can't retaliate, ever. Red card all day long no matter what the other chap did to him. If they overturn that then i give up
Good luck to him. Seemed to do a good job with us, even when tearing out his hair over Gomes! Any update on his son, by the way? I know that he took some time off to deal with the situation, but I've not heard anything about his recovery.
Not heard anything about his son for a while, the last I heard was he was still in hospital and that was over a year after his accident.
I don't understand this. What are the FA saying, that it was violent conduct (3 games) but justified (-1)? I just don't get it
That decision makes absolutely no sense at all. The FA shouldn't be attempting to appease Mourinho, especially as it won't work. How can it be a two match ban? There's no offence that warrants that.
What precedent does it set and what message does it send? If you've been wronged first, it's OK to be violent with an opponent? React aggressively and we'll understand? It's great mitigation and you'll get your ban reduced.
I think that the F.A. know very well that Atkinson ****ed up over the incident, although they'll never say so. . It's a sop to Chelsea to try and balance things out a bit.
It's absolutely incredible. I hope the FA get hammered for this, they've stood by whilst several other instances involving much less contact have been upheld in the past. A 2 match ban for violent conduct, that doesn't even exist in the FA's own rule book does it? They're still cowering behind their precious rules which allows incidents like Callum McManaman's tackle on Haidara and Ashley Barnes' to go unpunished, yet they bend the rules to drop one game off Matic's ban? What's even the point of that, it makes next to no difference anyway.
the asseror (?),said he got every decision right,so what does that decision say about their asseror's,that they are ****e as well?
Matic will now be allowed to play away against Hull, which will fuel Bruce's anger about the injustices in their previous encounter. Cahill should've been sent off several times, IIRC. Dived on a booking and made a foul that was both awful and denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
City are still **** in Europe, I see. Tough playing Barca, of course, but they just don't look the same team in these games.
I find it near impossible to have sympathy for chelsea. Remember the **** ashley coles apalling tackle on hutton at the lane? That was an awful leg breaker and Cole refused to show the ref his number and kept screaming abuse at him. Then their other cheating morons Terry and Lampard mouthed off about it. All cole got was a yellow card. They get so many favourable favours from refs but whine endlessly when they get a raw deal. West brom last season were cheated out of a win at their place with an outrageous last minute penalty. Torres cowardly scratching vertongens face got nothing except justification from jose the hypocrite. Cahill should have been sent off for diving against hull and again for kicking kane in the back when he was on the floor yet chelsea justified and defended the decisions as correct while whining at some non existent injustice. Ibramavic acted like he'd been badly hurt on saturday then within seconds jumps up and runs after the player...why no booking for play acting? The joke is all this moaning and whining will win them a favourable decision on sunday at our expense and there will be no fuss, no outrage, no nothing.
Brutal stuff for City in the first half. Some excellent stuff from Barca but City just looked totally lost, their big players aren't stepping up to be counted at this level and Pellegrini got it all wrong with 2 upfront. They showed enough at the end to just give a glimmer of hope but really that's all it is and it must be depressing to be in that kind of situation after just 45 minutes of a two legged tie. Hope they've got another comeback in them like with the Bayern game in the group stages.
