Played well, but haven't really generated many scoring chances. Has Mane-gets-wiped-out-by-Lovren-for-a-penalty-and-red and Mane-sticks-one-in-the-top-corner-in-the-88th-minute written all over it though.
What the actual **** is Friend doing. I'll concede the first call wasn't a penalty and it wasn't on him to see Mignolets handling but that still leaves 2 legit penalty appeals and approximately 36 yellow cards unaccounted for
One of those days. Everything is going against us. Has been the last few games. When you're in good form you get the luck, we aren't.
The ref has done an amazing job. He's somehow managed to make me dislike him more than Lovren and Twatbeard.
this is why we have a strong bench - get all the **** out of the way in the first half - murder them in the second! COYR!!!! and **** off Friend
Appreciate Carrager and Henry saying theirs wasn't a penalty, I still think it was, but they are plain wrong about the Mignolet incident. It was hand to ball, he slapped it down, and clearly outside the box. We outplayed them at the start of the season, and we have outplayed them again so far. It's very frustrating.
Graziano needs to pick himself up for the second half. He looks like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Mignolet looks a fraction inside to me. Brilliant save. Just what has happened to Pelle? The excuses are running out. I think we need Long and Mane to get one and cause mayhem.
Can't complain about the first one. It could have been given... but probably the correct call. Second one was a blatant penalty, ridiculously bad call. Fonte challenge was somewhat close. On balance, I think it was a penalty but he did get the ball and it was a wet surface so yeah... not the worst call but bad. Third one was outside the area, but would have been tough for linesman to see it and make the call. Fourth one, Lovren doesn't reach out to play the ball; his hands are down. But OTOH, it's not like he had no time to react. I suppose you could argue he didn't deliberately play the ball but if not it was such a clownish display of ineptitude I feel like you should not give him benefit of doubt. No matter how you slice it, we should have had at least one more PK than Liverpool. They are getting completely lucky here.
Thinking Long might have to go on for Pelle at some point, and not the 90th minute. We've put a fair few balls across the box, and he hasn't been attacking them with much vigor.
Like djuricic in the hole. Not having seen him play, it might not work. But I like the idea of it anyway.
