I've failed to be impressed with Caulker since his arrival and it was his mistake that lead to the first goal. What the hell was doing heading it back into the danger zone when a simple glance away for a corner was all that was needed.
I thought the 2nd was worse. Okay Green was in no man's land and the right full did nothing to prevent the cross but Caulker just went asleep and allowed his man a free header. The first goal? Maybe he should have put it out for a corner alright.
I find it funny how a lot of people have written of Rio. Yet this guy is at fault for at least 40% of our goals this season
Yes, as I've said on several posts before, I fail to see why this guy keeps getting picked let alone him being a decent player. Week after week I hear how he has been the cause of so many blunders / goals, scored late in the game against us. Not only a candidate for 'Dud Buy of the Year Award' ........... have to have the shortest odds to win it.
I was in the gym at 6.45 yesterday morning, travelled 3 hours to the arsehole of Yorkshire and had four pints before the game and I think I could sense danger quicker. It's a miracle he never ran into the traffic as a child he is that unaware of what is happening around him.
I get a feeling Caulker will be cut a lot more slack by Ramsey as he will have been brought through Spurs youth set-up by him. He has all the attributes of a proper centreback but seems to lack concentration at vital moments, a serious flaw...
Real shame. Almost as daft as Barton telling Caulker to stay mentally alert after the first goal then 15 mins later.... Both of them cost us yesterday.
A case where coaching should achieve a better outcome. One to watch if Ramsey is going to succeed with this team.
Caulker was at fault for both goals. Rio is still much much better than him. I'd play Clint ahead of Caulker.
I think Caulker lacks confidence; he never really looks comfortable when playing. I think there is a good defender in there it is just that he is always under pressure playing for us and is struggling. He was left out against Man U. Maybe it is time to rest him again. I would play Ned alongside RIo for the next game.
The problem is Ned is out for the next few weeks as is Dunne. I hope that Rio can work with him in the next week or two and work out the glitches
Totally agree. I believe Ramsay can improve Caulker on the training pitch in terms of awareness, concentration and positioning. I think that he sometimes believes he has Rios attributes when he was in his prime yet should just stick to basics and build from there.
I didn't see it like that. Just a bit earlier in that sequence, he was being marked by Rio but he drifted goal side behind Rio into space and scored.
We really do have some terrrible no-nothing fans dont we... Play Hill? really..what idiot would suggest that an aging player who himself says he isnt good enough, should be picked. No suprise really
I've just looked at it again Dipper and you are correct. My apologies. It was in fact Ferdinand who went asleep. The pair of them just aren't very good
