Sturridge wanted it because he wanted to score on his european debut for us - thinking of the stats

Balo already has a CL goal to his name - Sturride will have been thinking this

Asked to clarify who should have taken the penalty after the game, Rodgers said:

"I am clarifying we won the game 1-0." <laugh>

The way Hendo was overhitting everything, I think it was wise for Balo to step in. Looking at it, I don't think Danny wanted it for himself, I think he was just pointing out that Hendo was on the board.

It doesn't need to be brought up by press for any longer. It was a heat of the moment thing and I hope and am sure that Rodgers will talk to all parties involved. We have more important things, like the next game

Turned on the radio first thing and what are they talking about <doh> Twats
Hendo doesn't strike me as a penalty taker, whereas its very much part of Balo's game.

    Lets move on

  9. True, he only dragged us to fourth almost single handedly prior to Rafa arriving and then won us the CL followed by the FA Cup during Rafa's reign. He was proper **** <doh>

Badontelly is the man... Anyone giving Henderson the nod is nuts. As for sturridge he is ****ing useless at pens

I remember gerrard and beckham starting out they were muck too

Once a player reaches the correct mindset of zero doubt and knowing exactly where they out the ball they improve radically. How can Henderson be there? Balotelli has no doubts he is a pen taker

I think he is mad sad and a useless lump but I'd bet my house on him scoring

And it's not as if Mario snatched the ball of Hendo - he asked, and he took it. Saw very little fight from Hendo and if he felt that strongly about taking it, he wouldn't have given Mario the ball - simple.

Pull your head in you useless lump this is in context of pen taking.

If it were general play we'd not be debating Henderson v badontelly would we?

    Double dohs back to you

  13. As far as I can remember, Gerrard hadn't missed a penalty up to that point and he took quite a few under Houllier. To say Gerrard wasn't all that whether its purely about pens or not is just plain ridiculous. Surprised you even thought about making a comment like that!

That wasn't good enough last night. We went backwards. Sturridge was awful. Lallana wants shooting for missing two of those. Play like that against the saints and we're ****ed.

Yeah, it's a shame the penalty incident is the centre of attention.

Nothing new from Lallana really, poor, anonymous and missed a sitter.

Watching the game back - I thought Can and Skrtel were poor.

Allen starting to find a bit of rhythm - he won't be a star but he can be crucial in certain situations i.e. controlling a game, keeping possession and pressing. Ideal for when protecting a lead.

Ibe and Mario were the standouts for me - Wing back position is actually tailor made for Ibe.

Yeah, Ibe was excellent - again. Balo looked well up for it. Can was poor by his recent standards.

Gerrard's made the incident headline news, he should have been pitchside sitting amongst the players on the bench or in the stands supporting the team, we used to keep club matters in house back in the day and he not only had a pop at Ball but he made a liar of Henderson who was diplomatic in his post match interview even though he was angry as **** inside.

Hope Gerrard realises the **** he's heaped on LFC and that it doesn't do any harm to our team spirit for the rest of the season.<grr>

There's a reason why he's called Stevie Me after all these years.

I don't think it's malice, or even selfishness - just stupidity.
I've never thought Gerrard was a great ambassador for the club- he's a lousy communicator. I never even wanted him to be made skipper at the time, because although he's a great leader on the pitch by example, he's never had the other qualities that I believe a captain needs.

Really though, this is just a further example of the need to keep footballers away from any form of mass communication. It's just embarrassing.

Ibe aside I thought you were largely pants last night.

A win's a win and all that, but Mignolet won you that game imo, as that save from Ba was top draw, he made that look easy, but it wasn't.
