Despite all the guff about having to pay in advance affecting them and there being next to no away fans the crowd was up at 12,002.an example of the new system leading to more accurate figures and vindication of Mr Allam's decision?

That wasn't the case, the club worked hard to make sure there were outlets selling tickets around the stadium perimeter on the day.

I was referring to Pearson's statement and the nonsense about how rugby fans only decide on the day whether they are going and this would affect their gates.

Some do only decide on the day and there is a chance gates would have been lower because of that. However because the club made tickets available to buy on the day its irrelevant, essentially it hasn't changed since last year.

The only reason rugby fans decide whether or not to go on the day is because they know they can just walk up and get in easily enough. That's no guarantee at a football match.

Due to hull fc taking around 3k away at huddersfield, they sold 1600 tickets up to 24hours before kick off. Huddersfield then announced you can pay on the gate hence the increased away following. It does increase the gate in rugby having the option to pay on the gate.

They took 2,355 which is more around 2,000 than 3,000.

Even so that's still about a third of people deciding to pay on the day.

With regards to the numbers, Hull fans were being told to pay into the home turnstiles and walk round to the away end to 'avoid queues' (or boost the home attendance), so there is no accurate figure as to the number of away fans.

That's probably only true with a select few clubs, certainly not true for us this season.

Maybe if the KC Stadium was bigger there would be a guarantee that that the walk-up's could get in for football?
The only reason City have to adopt the ticketing system is because we fill the stadium to about 95% of it's capacity for every home game.
The only difference between rugby league fans and football fans is that there are more football fans. Supply and demand.

Could you elaborate on that with some actual facts and figures?
Just to remind you that Hull City often venture beyond the M62 corridor when playing away and all our matches are televised live.

City took about 400 to Huddersfield, FC took around 3000.

They are a bigger and better supported club than city, I don't see why you struggle so badly to admit it to yourself.

    Yeah, sure.
They give a total crowd figure so how do they boost the home figure?

If there were 3,000 FC fans there then there were over 2,000 Catalan fans there last season. Unless thousands of Huddersfield fans stay away when the world famous FC visit but go when Catalans are in town.

Total fans minus the away fans = number of home fans, pretty ****ing simple!

Just telling you what happened from someone that was there.

Also most teams (including Hull) have offers, promos and free tickets for the Catalan game in order to boost the home crowd to make up for the lack of travelling fans.

But they don't announce the home crowd. They just announce the total there. So what you are suggesting is ridiculous.
