With talk of a serious knee injury being suffered by the former West Ham and Tottenham boss ending his stint at Loftus Road, the footballing community have been left somewhat bewildered as a result of the news. It is thought that the now ex-QPR boss will need surgery on his leg after seemingly being ruled out for the rest of the season. Whilst Redknapp has in-fact distanced himself from such talk, the decision to depart his role at Loftus Road just after the closing of the January transfer window has aroused a certain suspicion since the news first broke. Queens Park Rangers incidentally made no real significant signings during the window, and as we all know that relegation fearing sides need all the assistance they can get throughout the season, perhaps there might be more to this story than initially meets the eye. Concentrating on footballing matters only however, despite the ever-vocal Tony Fernandez claiming that he has already sourced ‘the dream boss’ to fill the void down at Loftus Road, just how well will QPR cope without Harry Redknapp, and are the club now seemingly doomed upon accepting his resignation? Despite hovering just above the Premier League’s relegation zone, with only 22 points taken from 25 games, QPR were somewhat on their way to establishing themselves as a top-flight side before Harry Redknapp’s shock departure. The London club were slowly but surely impressing those that came to watch them with their decently entertaining style and positive approach to football matches. QPR games normally brought with them a great deal of goals, and although the club have only just recorded their first away points of the season, matches down at Loftus Road have certainly been an exciting affair more often than not. The latter in particular has seen his stock rise dramatically this season, as with 13 goals already scored for QPR this campaign, the former Burnley man is already in potential contention for a place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad. Whilst Charlie Austin’s goals have certainly been the pick of the bunch, the likes of Leroy Fer and Eduardo Vargas have also shown signs of intent this season, even if they could become that bit more deadly in front of goal. Without Harry Redknapp at the helm however, whose man-management skills and knowledge of the players were very highly valued at Loftus Road, the future of the Hoops has been thrown into doubt once again. The rising, but somewhat shaky, form of Tony Fernandez’ side looks somewhat vulnerable without someone of Redknapp’s experience and know-how overseeing proceedings. Yes – the former Portsmouth boss has already witnessed one relegation with QPR in his brief time at the club, but as he was the man to take them straight back up at the first time of asking, it seems unlikely that his influence will be immediately replaced. Fernandez may have claimed that Redknapp’s successor is already waiting in the wings to take over at QPR, but as care-taker coach Chris Ramsey is apparently set to remain in charge of the cub for the remainder of the season, it seems the Loftus Road faithful will be forced to wait on their potentially perfect incomer. As QPR may already be relegated by then however, the course of action taken by the Premier League side looks risky at best. That said, there are several other teams in the top-flight of English football suffering equal, if not worse, fates at this current moment. QPR’s brief form has led many to believe that they can achieve Premier League survival this season, and if the likes of Charlie Austin can continue their impressive spell in the white and blue, perhaps the Hoops will stand a fighting chance. Without someone of Harry Redknapp’s experience in charge of the squad, though, surviving relegation this season may be a task much easier said than done.

Who ever wrote that has the selective memory of a 6 year old as we all know that since his departure we've certainly done no worse and it could be strongly argued that we've improved without his stewardship.
Has to be a spoof article surely? When Clive W and Nuts were having a "Harry Love-in" at the C&S last week, it was noted he left us exactly where he found us but for god knows how many millions spent. (This is true of course, and yet the play-offs and Wembley cloud my negative view of him)
Same as those knobs that do the Sunday supplement, actually trying to make us believe he left because of his dodgy knee? I can't see why the press have this love in for him but i doubt he will ever manage a top flight team again. The bloke was a dinosaur and got found out at our expense.
I actually think he made it his business, from the beginning of his career, to get on as best terms as possible with as many media men as he could so that he would always have easy questions to answer and get a positive slant whenever he's portrayed in the press.
