Looks like 80% plus have had enough of Gus. His dire boring football and fan based excuses have come to a head. Would you keep him for the West Brom game….it,s massive,
The thing is there's nobody out there to replace him. Pulis would be the one to save us from relegation but he's been snapped up. Big Sam would do a good job for us but I can't see us getting him this season. It looks like its Gus for the time being so I say we should back the Lads and Gus. WBA are hitting top form so it's unsuprising that they are the next game. At the SOL the Lads are playing poor and I reckon it's the crowd affecting them. I'm a musician and when you play to an indifferent audience you give a different performance than if you were playing to an audience that cheers and makes a good atmosphere. The SOL crowd should start again and forget the previous performances, I know it's frustrating watching them but we can lift them to a higher level with positive support instead of all the groans and boo's. We can do it. By the way, does anyone know if WBA have any players on 99 goals or one who hasn't scored for years, or any other possible record or fact that we will probably put an end to.
Your right in what you say about the audience, I am a Musician too and when the audience are indifferent it affects confidence and performance.
Ive never called for a manager to be sacked in my time as a sunderland fan but Poyet is really starting to piss me off. He has lost the plot attacking the fans after every defeat. The sorry thing is who the hell will come in to save us?
Well I'm going to go against the grain and say I want him to stay. Poyet's better than almost every manager we've had since Peter Reid - I can't think of any I'd have back. I think we're better than we were last year (although slight) and hope to see some improvement next year. I'm not sure there's anyone who could come in now and improve us. There may be available mangers in the summer but do we want a reputaion as a club who changes their manager every 5 minutes? Enough panic and change I say, more stability. I'll be at the WBA game and despite the team and the manager currently not meeting expectations, will be giving my full support as I'm sure will thousands of others. Comments on fans do need to stop though - whatever Poyet's views on misinterpretation, just don't go there - playing with fire.
Don't mean to be a big head but I knew he'd play the wrong tactics. He's so predictable. Paolo was sacked for less. He can go for me. Gus was conned on the pitch, it wasn't that bad as it was made out. I said to Smug as soon as I saw it that it was good enough to play football on and Bradford played better football. Gus didn't have forsight to try playing football himself, instead stuck to failing plan A. He's useless Not good enough to manage a club like Sunderland. Out smarted by a league one manager. He's becoming an embarrassment. Who's better out there? Who isn't?
Poyet still has my support. We knew the time to go was right for Bruce and then MON, but with the signing of Defoe and performances until 'JUST THE LAST TWO GAMES' things seemed to be steadily improving. I hope he's still here for the first game of next season.
He's struggling but I want us to stand by him. We'll be fine. At HT at Swansea we were leading after having beaten Fulham and Burnley. Two bad games later and most people seem to have had enough. I think we need to give him much more time. Do I think we will? Nope!
