most outstanding comment came from Cloughie /SheffUtd who stated they have every possibility to and intention to get into top 2. ( they have failed in the play off's before)
the buoyancy of Edinburgh and the "we are just a couple points off the play off's and it is 10 years since were in champs".
There is no doubt that being top 2 is it..... you are up....

ASSUMPTION is often regarded as a negative thing... "we are top 4 points clear" is positive butassumes we will perform well.

After 23 games played we were top, (48 pts) and Sheff utd were 5th 12 points behind, and Gills were 20th 23 points behind. 4th team were MKD on 45.
Now position wise nothing at the top has changed we are top (61 pts) Sheff 5th on 45 pts MKD (56 pts) and PNE ( 53 pts ) have swapped places.
We have a game in hand as does PNE, and Sheff have 2 over Swindon and MKD SO HOT AT THE TOP and likely Cloughie may almost get his wish !

Gills enthusiasm must come from the fact 2pts now, and they could be challenging in 6th, but the reality is they are only there because they have played 31 games...the level playing field shows 30 games played, puts them 5pts behind and 4 teams at that point still have 1 or 2 games in hand.

    CITY LOSSES
    home to SHEFF UTD PNE
    away to SWINDLERS Crewe
I can live with 3pts from Sheff

I think we have received a smack in the face from Sheffield United which didn't really hurt because of the Swindon and MK results.

We have been lucky. Let's not waste the luck.

Need to come back with all guns blazing and secure 6 points from the next 2 games. Both of which are very winnable.

As SC said, its how we react on Tuesday that counts. It could be a blessing in disguise if there is a positive reaction
We are definitely good enough to wrap this up between now and the end of March

both our next 2 games are teams in form as well as Sheff , who will now go heads down to "win the league!
don't forget last season on game 27 they were 26 points in 23rd 1 behind City so made up 41 points in 57 to finish 7th 9 above City
this season on 27 games had 42 points so same form will be 83 pts total, they have played the top 4 home and away, which is an advantage to them disadvantage to us!
With Gills and Bradford also being bullish about their chances its going to get hot

Sheffield United have already played the top 4 twice. They have completed all their games in the little league of 5. So they could easily go on a run and make the automatic slots.
