Angus Young, HDM reporter has just Tweeted this. It refers to the club as Hull Tigers. There's more in tomorrows HDM.

Surely Allam will love the council for calling the team Hull Tigers. So that's the end of his need to drop the city part of the name. Result!

I think it was Goebbells who invented the concept of the Big Lie, and the idea that if you say the lie often enough and loud enough eventually you will wear everyone out and impose your lie.
Here it is being said again

it's a legal document - the full company name will appear at the top which is Hull City Tigers and that will be abridged for the purposes of the rest of the legal document - its standard practice to abridge and stops the long name being written throughout the document - its not the team name - it means nothing

I'm pretty certain it won't have said that pre-Allam.

it wont because the club name was Hull City Association Football Club or AFC pre Allam - the document probably said Hull City for short = it will have had to be changed when he changed the company name

The companies name is Hull City Tigers LTD, yet the document says Hull Tigers?

Of course it means something, it's insulting and divisive, as our club is not, in any way shape or form Hull Tigers - permission to do so was flatly refused.

at the top of the document there will be a list of descriptions plus a section setting out the legal entities that are party to the contract / lease - it will say something like - this lease is between Hull City Tigers Ltd of --- address - company reg number and then it will have something like Hull Tigers in brackets to say that everywhere it says Hull Tigers in the document it means Hull City Tigers Ltd of etc - its just legal terminology to save time setting out the company name every time they mention the company as a legal entity

Hull City is the team name - not the legal entity that is party to any contract or lease - you cant have a contract with Hull City because its not the company name - the company is Hull City Tigers Ltd - it is standard practice to abridge the name in legal documents so as no to keep repeating Hull City Tigers Ltd non stop - he could have used Party1 - he could have used Hull City - being a **** he decided to use Hull Tigers - but it is not being used as the team name in the document as it is just the abridged version of the company name

You are technically correct except that they will of followed the wishes of the various parties as to what the shortened title should be (after all, it's all about brevity, as you say}; so why not Hull City, which is shorter than Hull Tigers and far more familiar to all concerned. It is a deliberate insult, nothing less.
