  2. IMO, it makes it a much better plot. There is so much more scope for pre-BB than post-BB. If it had been post then I fear there would have been lots of crap cliché remarks about 'the good old days'. Once I realised it was pre-BB I enjoyed it much more <ok>

Same for prequels in general, so much more you can do with them rather than keep going on and on in a story line.

  5. I love the back flashes in modern TV series. TWD obviously does it but it was Lost that started it I believe and it was one of the reasons I liked it so much. Arrow and The Flash both do it too, as does OITNB.

Highlander the Series as far back as 1992 utilised flash backs to perfection.

Went in with low expectations. Pleasantly surprised. Solid start though a little slow (like BB).

Tge reviews and ratings are insane though. 10/10 RT.

Watched the Keith Lemon Sketch show as recommended by some on here, brilliant stuff how he gets away with getting some of it on TV is beyond me. The When Harry Met Sally scene had me crying laughing.

That always happens when a movie or show is first released.
BB fan boys will go on and vote it a 10 straight away, some before they have even seen it.
Look again in a year when people (other than the diehards) have actually watched it, and you will get a more accurate score.

Besides, IMDB ratings are stupid on a whole.
I mean the "Man of Steel" movie has a 7.4 rating or some ****.......really? More like 4.4 in my view.....

  15. I don't agree with that, you just have weird taste <whistle>

But seriously, IMDB ratings are a great guide IMO so long as (a) it's been released for at least three months, and (b) its had at least 50,000 votes.

    I wouldn't say I have weird taste.
Just dont like all the **** TV thats mass shat out by a lot of American Networks like UPN, WB, NBC, Fox etc
    Most of it is ****.

HBO, Showtime and AMC seem to have their **** together.
As far as movies go you have to gauge the rating on what kind of movie it is and how ardent the fanbase is.
Something like Man Of Steel and Better Call Saul will have existing hardcore fanbases based on DC Comics and Breaking Bad fan boys.
People who love DC and Breaking Bad will vote it a 10, and similarly Hispters who hate it will vote it a 1, like I said, some without even watching it.
It's always best to just make up your own mind.

I tend to look at the oveall rating from IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.

  18. Pretty much why I said you need to wait until there have been a lot of people voted before it gives you a true idea of how good it will be. Do you go on there and rate things once you've watched them? I do most of the time but usually depends on whether I remember.

Rotten Tomatoes is better for a general idea on if a movie is good.
But really, I have always said, reviews are opinions, therefore are subjective, so its best to just watch it and make up your own mind.
