....has been made an Asset of Community Value. Hull City Supporters’ Trust secures the KC Stadium as an Asset of Community Value 0 BY ANDY MILLS ON FEBRUARY 13, 2015PRESS RELEASES/STATEMENTS Thanks to a nomination from the Hull City Supporters’ Trust, the KC Stadium has joined a short (but growing) list of stadia that are listed as Assets of Community Value (ACV) under the Localism Act 2011, putting it alongside Manchester United’s Old Trafford and Newcastle United’s St James’ Park. The listing, which is for five years, includes a right to bid should the stadium be put up for sale. A right to bid can be lodged by a community interest group within six weeks, with finance secured in a period of up to four-and-a-half months. This means that the KC Stadium cannot be sold without the local community being told about it, or being given the opportunity to bid for the stadium themselves, should the local authority choose to sell their asset. Mark Gretton, the Interim Chair of the Supporters’ Trust, welcomed Hull City Council’s decision. He said: “Listing the stadium as an Asset of Community Value is of huge symbolic importance. In any discussion over the stadium’s future, the ACV listing serves as a timely reminder that the fans – as much as, if not more than, the owners and leaseholders – have a vested interest in the KC. “The Trust believes that supporters should have a key role to play in the KC Stadium, an asset that was explicitly developed for the benefit of the local community but currently has no discernible community engagement in its management or operation. The stadium’s listing as an ACV supports the original vision. ”We’d like to thank Hull City Council for approving the nomination and Jacqui Forster from Supporters’ Direct for her guidance in preparing our application.”
Meaningless. All "****" Grettons comments will do is lessen the chance of dialogue with Allam. The sooner the soft **** is voted out the more chance of a successful trust.
Couldn't he join to vote, and then resign and get his money back if he doesn't like the elected committee?
Seeing as AKACTWD wouldn't have the money, nor the inclination to buy it, nor would any other "supporters" groups, I don't see any benefits other than if it is sold, an announcement is made public. Surely as well, community asset, its not about 1 set of fans, its about members of the local community, i.e. the council tax payers of Hull? Don't quite understand why Dr Allam would be bothered either, it's not his to sell, and HCC have made it plain its not for sale, or for development. Can't be arsed looking it up, but I thought the point was to just make sure any decisions regarding the stadium were made public and not kept secret rather than just ensuring AKACTWD are kept informed? Isn't it mostly a symbolic act?
One less than Zero falls below nothing equalling naught. Minus 1 Mark Gretton still equals nothing. Yes your right. No less.
A complete waste of time. Just the anti- Allam group within CTWD - renamed, ironically - trying their best to maintain their hostility to everything he wants to do.
Crikey what a relief it stops HCC selling it to a consortium of travelling showmen so the car boot sale on Walton St can continue without interruption. Oh no it doesn't it just means they have to announce it first.
This is just CTWD's next throw of the dice as they've now realised they're not getting on the board. Their new plan is to take hold of the stadium, increase the rent, sit back and become millionaires.
How does this change things when Mr Allam never wanted the council to sell him the stadium? He wanted the council to give it away.
