Slams shut next week ( for perm anyway ) - are we likely to snap one or two up? I think a CM + wide midfielder look the key areas to sign.

We going to have a loanee ala David Unsworth to sort us out - if so lets do it a bit better than Royle so he could play in the play offs please...........

A back up central defender or 2 would be useful as we don't appear to have enough cover if we get injuries and suspensions, those Cambridge lads looked good against Man Utd and probably wouldn't cost a lot. Worth a go?

    We have Clarke remember.
I'm sure Mick would be willing to throw him in even though he doesn't have much experience. Probably wouldn't be put in at CB but we have Chambers, Smith, Berra and Ty who could all play that position.

Clarke looks quality (the few mins i have seen) and i expect him to force his way into the side, sooner rather than later!!
I know he is highly rated anf thats why Mick let SSL go!!
Midfield is where we need more quality, just get some pace/skill/creativity and we will be there, if not, i think we will struggle to repeat first half of season and may just drop off, over to you Mick!!

Looks like Jonny Williams may be returning in the next couple of weeks....

Might not be anything it it, but the #cantwait would indicate that he is on his way back (and soon) though I would imagine that Mick will try and hold fire until 93 days before the play off final just in case <ok>

Say Williams did come back, where would he fit in? Want him back and McCarthy can figure it out sure.

Had a feeling we were after some solid glue to hold this team together. Should this happen, or something similar we could definitely revert back to 4-2-3-1 with Parr and Mings bombing on at full back. Also would free up the front four to attack at will.

I quite like Chaplow..... yes please.

This is about as 'leftfield' as transfer rumours come... Completely forgotten about the guy and the fact he hasn't made an impact at a very poor Millwall team doesn't inspire much... The same can be said for Varney at Blackburn.

I am all for Managers getting the best out of under performing players but there are 15 games left (15 cup finals if you like..) we need people to be able to come in and have an impact from game day 1 to game day 15 (+3 if necessary).. In summary we need quality additions rather than squad fillers

Hunt made zero impact at Leeds I recall not being excited about that transfer but it's worked out alright.

I'd imagine Hyam is out longer in the Chaplow case however and it's an extra body.

We do have a habit of turning players' careers around with Mick and TC so you can never really know what to expect from somebody who's brought into the club. There's no doubt we improve every person who comes through the door.
