He has yet to find his best position, he has a great skillset though. I'm not sure where he will end up, CAM I guess. He would be well suited at the top of a diamond?
Wide right would have been perfect for him tonight. Him getting those crosses in from the right rather than tadic could have made the difference
How good were Lallana or Bale at 20 years old? JWP is going to be a hell of a player. The goals will come. And not only that, Harry Reed is effing quality too. How many teams would love to have two English youngsters like these in the middle of the park?
JWPs ball to Tadic tonight was precisely the type of pass that was one of the few ways we were going to be able to break them down as they were. Unfortunately Dusan dithered a little or it would have been another assist for the lad.
I didn't mean it as a comparison. Just simply pointing out the fact that players are still massively improving in their early twenties. Obviously I'm not saying JWP will automatically be an 80 million quid Madrid player a few years down the line.
If JWP is to play CM or Attacking Midfield he has to add goals to his existing list of attributes, sadly this is the department that is sadly missing. Everything else seems to be developing very well and our dead ball delivery is badly effected when he doesn't play. Until he finds his shooting boots he is best served out on the RM but will have to play second fiddle to Mane etc
I guess he would prefer somewhere with a bit more involvement, Fraser had a couple of easy catches and several boot outs, this was about all we got for his wages yesterday.
I fear for Ward-Prowse and Reed. They seem awfully small... Do you think they'll still grow? Small players have a place in football, but usually they have excellent acceleration, pace, and fluid dribbling skills - not attributes i'd really associate with the two. I think they'll be good premier league players, just not world beaters. Hope i'm wrong...
*shakes head at English Disease sufferer* Paul Scholes Xavi Philip Lahm Claude Makele Alain Giresse Michelle Platini Alan Ball - the best one touch player ever Nobby Styles Oh..... And SAMMY LEE!!!!
I really do wish there was an option called squad rotation, because I'd pick that position. Like all players, JWP shouldn't have a nailed on place.
