...on becoming Hull City's all time joint top scorer in the Premier League. Craig ***an is 4th. http://www.free-elements.com/England/Clubs/HulL1.html
Not a bad return in a year (or so) of PL football, well done Jela, top lad, and let's not forget, a proper man
Not good enough im afraid. We will always struggle when our strikers can only muster 11 goals in almost an entire seasons worth of games. I wonder how long it will take everyone to see the light this time.
25 would be great but at an absolute minimum he should be scoring 15 at the very least. 20 would be a more acceptable and realistic target.
11 in a team like ours is perfectly respectable. To call it "fantastic" is pushing it too far, though.
I would call it fantastic it is pretty much a season of football, Aguero and Rooney only managed 17 (each) last season. 11 goals for us is fantastic,
17 from 23 and 17 from 29 respectively. Not that there's really any point in comparing their strike rates to those of a striker at a bottom-half club. Jelavic should be compared to the likes of Berahino, Austin, Fletcher, Ings, Benteke, Ulloa etc.
I know it's not a fair comparison but to be close to Aguero and Rooney in a team like ours that has struggled is fantastic, if he was on or around 15 goals a season as some have said he would be in the same bracket as Rooney, Aguero, Dzeko and Bony.
I think you've misread the numbers, although why the site is using the format it appears to be I don't know. The title of the page is referring to PL goals 1992-2014, so I think they're just using the first year in the season so determine it. ie 2014/15 is just referred to as 2014. If you look at Shane Long he's down as 2013, 2013, but he only played for us in 2014. I think the first year is the season they scored their first PL goal, and the 2nd is when they scored their most recent PL goal for us.
Jesus Christ. We are Hull City and to have a striker score 11 in 35 at this level is ****ing unbelievable. There were times I wish we had a striker that could score 11 in 3 years while we were in Div 4!! Some people really dont know how lucky they are!!!!
It's not like he's had a recent surge either, he was scoring at that rate last season. He just seemed to be getting less because of how many cup games we had that he couldn't play in.
