Apologies if this has already been discussed and I missed it, but did we ever find out what Macca had done wrong and needed to apologise for?
I agree Newland but it needed nipping in the bud, the anti-social networking I mean, and maybe that's one of the reasons that Curtis Davies has been dropped too, or perhaps it was simply because he's been a bit **** lately, and Phelan recognised that even if Brucey didn't.
The stuff on social media came after they fell out. It was his reaction to Bruce dropping him from the squad after the Burnley game that caused the problem.
So do we know what exactly his reaction was? Was it something anti Bruce-junior? If so, it's encouraging that they played so well together in the back three against Man City.
I suspect he told the manager he didn't agree with his decision and the apology demanded suggests he did so if front of the rest of the squad. It sounds like both Macca and Bruce have put this behind them now, I think we've moved on.
McShane may not be the most gifted footballer, but his personality and passion is something this club needs so much at the moment. The happier he is, the happier the squad is.
Fully agree, in The Great Escape season Warren Joyce would have given his left bollock for a player with the mindset of Macca. In fact we had quite a few with the same mindset, Macca would have fitted in just fine, and he'd have looked like McMessi compared to the no nonsense winner that was Brabs.
I don't think its Passion Davies lacks , it's confidence which can have a huge effect on some players. Things he did instinctively last season he is now thinking about and it's causing big problems. He was awful against Newcastle and was rightly dropped its a shame for him but there is no quick solution sometimes especially when it's a mental problem.
So, nowt to do with an incident in a London nightclub, as was suggested to me by another poster on here?
So did I! I was told last night! I've got to admit, I was very surprised that a nightclub incident involving Premier League footballers didn't make it into the tabloids!
