Up to £4.4b from £3b. Unreal amounts of cash for Premier League Clubs (Sorry I mean players and their agents!) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31331496
You mean apart from the £230m that's just been committed to build 150 new coaching hubs in 30 cities across the country?
How does the Premier League distribute rights money? 50% divided equally between the clubs. 25% awarded to clubs based on their final league position. 25% distributed to clubs as "facilities fee" for televised matches. That adds up to 100%, so that would suggest the £230m not coming from this deal.
2011 - 13 the PL TV deal was worth £1.2bn 2013 - 16 it went upto £3.0bn (the one we have now. 2016 - 19 it is expected to be approx £4.4bn (subject to who actually wins the rights) Then factor in all the extras (ie. MOTD, radio etc) and the Overseas rights - it is expected to be abother £3bn So that £7.4bn for 2016-19 seasons shows why so many are desperate to be in the PL. 5pm(17.00hrs) UK time is when the PL expect to announce who the winners and losers are.
The Premier League makes a significant voluntary contribution to grassroots football that has continued to grow since the League’s inception. Over three seasons the League will redistribute over £850 million pounds to help strengthen football below the top tier. This includes solidarity payments to support the 72 clubs in the Football League and the 68 clubs in the three divisions of the Football Conference. Part of this funding is ring-fenced to support these clubs’ work in the community. £168 million will be spent by the Premier League solely on grassroots football and community sport projects in their current three years funding cycle. The Premier League has recently formed a strong partnership with Sport England to increase its work in this area. This includes the expansion of the Premier League 4 Sport programme that encourages more young people to take up sport and is helping deliver a tangible sporting legacy from London 2012. The £168 million is on top of direct investment from clubs themselves on community sport projects. The above is in addition to the £230m I mentioned, which is mainly provided by the FA and the government, as part of a new grassroots initiative, the Premier League is expected to increase the solidarity payments, in line with the increase in the new TV deal.
For all its faults there is less of a disparity between the top 2 or 3 teams and the ones below in the PL.
You have been to Holland. Compare how there is a pitch with facilities and floodlights, and all weather pitches, in virtually every village compared to the lack of facilities here. Or Germany. Then there are the coaches. 2,500 employed in schools inSpain out of 27,000 with coaching qualifications. In Germany 36,000 with qualifications. Here? 7,000. Right up to Pro Coach qualifications we lag behind and it will take an awful long time to catch up.

I've just seen a tweet by the influential James Horncastle about City getting the same money as Inter and twice as much as Bayern. ****ing mental. And that's in the current deal.
Danny Baker @prodnose The actual figure for Premier League right has just been adjusted from £5.14bn to £5.14bn & 85p. They forgot to add in Stoke v Hull. Cheeky twat.
No ****ing change here then. Move along, nothing to see. Greedy football capitalists hoover up everything pausing but a moment to raise their rancid snouts from the trough. Grassroots football -**** off. Schools football - whatever. Women's football - yeah, yeah, yeah. FA - Get thee behind me Satan. Don't you worry, I'm alright Jack, we've never had it so good. There's plenty of grouse in the country house, we're eating like we should. Pure, unadulterated self interest. ****. I think I'm turning into Mussie.
