Ive no idea where to put this thread so maybe a mod can move it. Newcastle and Fulham? should we feel flattered that our manager is being linked with other high profile jobs? well maybe not Fulham
You're the **** that told Red Top Nobhead off for not using Off topic, then stuck up an off topic one without using the category thing yourself. I know I know, one set of rules for you etc etc Lighten up ffs. But lets not make this another thread about Super Fan there eh Pats? I think we should be flattered, end of the day he's good at what he does despite the criticism he gets every week. I wouldn't swap him for anyone else at the moment and he's my favorite manager from the last 40 odd years. Not just because of the promotion or the FA Cup, but also because I think he's a genuinely nice fella who is good at what he does and doesn't court attention, just gets on with the job. We should be more worried if he wasn't linked with other clubs who need a job doing and have ambition.
But he isn't 'linked' by anything more then cheap press speculation. If Bruce was showing signs of being unhappy here, or at constant loggerheads with the owners, on a 'improve or else' type of relationship with them, showing signs of stress, dragging the club's name down in some way, unpopular with the fans, upsetting sponsors, running a unhappy ship and so on then yes. perhaps there MIGHT be grounds for some speculation. But there is none of that. So HDM and BBC Radio Humberside shut the **** up. Stop parroting the Red Tops and lets see some signs of togetherness and unity instead of this constant sniping, stirring and negativity.
The local media have an obligation to report the news, it would be ridiculous if the national media were linking our manager with other clubs(or being sacked) and they ignored it. While they have reported these stories, they have largely dismissed them as nonsense, so I don't think they've done anything wrong. There have been occasions in the past when our local media have printed disappointing stories(particularly with regard to trouble at games), but I don't think this applies to recent reporting.
Quite right. The local media shouldn't just parrot other journalists without comment, especially when they're so negative with their own efforts.
But they don't report news - they speculate wildly, regurgitate old speculation, try to create ill feeling by stirring up old issues and oh speculate.
I think it's perfectly reasonable and accurate, to slag of our local media for the ridiculously over the top coverage of any trouble at City games, or to criticise the BBC for employing that twat Lloyd, but reporting stories that are appearing across numerous national media outlets is a completely different thing. Frankly, anyone who can't figure out that an article the starts 'according to The Sunday People' is not a HDM story and is probably bollocks, probably shouldn't be allowed out unaccompanied.
This is one thing you'd never see in the HDM... The Birmingham Mail says - Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert's time is up http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/birmingham-mail-says---aston-8624784
Its ****ed up that no one is calling for the players heads. How are they getting away with the displays like last night from them, whilst still raking in a fortune every week?
