MACKIE: 'I'M MAKING PROGRESS' Posted on: Fri 03 Jun 2011 Jamie Mackie's rehabilitation from injury is 'on track' according to the man himself, as the countdown to the new season begins in earnest. With the Play-Off Finals reaching a conclusion on Bank Holiday Monday, all thoughts now turn to the start of the 2011/12 campaign and Mackie, for one, can't wait for the new season. Article continues Advertisement "I think it's starting to sink in that we're a Premier League Club now," he told www.qpr.co.uk "Watching Survival Sunday gave me a taste of it and showed the complexity of the task facing us. "The calibre of teams we've got to play are incredible, but it's such an exciting prospect. "I think it will sink in once and for all when we're lining up in the tunnel on the opening day of the season alongside whoever we get on day one. "I just can't wait for it." Mackie suffered a double fracture of his lower leg in the R's defeat to Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup third round in January, but his progress is going well. "I'm just getting my head down and working hard," he said. "Obviously it's going to be a tough slog over the summer months when the rest of the boys are on holiday, but it will all be worth it once pre-season comes around again at the start of July." Mackie added: "Everything is on track at the moment and whilst myself and the medical and fitness teams haven't set any specific goals, everything is going as smoothly as we could have hoped for. "The medical and fitness staff have been spot on with me and as soon as I'm back fit, I'm back fit - we don't need to put a time scale on things at this stage."
I think Mackie is a real professional, who is dedicated to his profession. The work he puts in, the approach he shows to developing himself and an eagerness to get to the top. I think he will be nothing short of 100% positive about his ability to show he can play well in this league. Will he suprprise everyone in his first season? We'll see. It won't be because he hasn't given everything, of that I feel certain.
Looked clumsy but somehow banged them in, which is all that counts. He could look like a clown on the pitch for all I care, as long as he scores.
After he burst onto the scene with all those goals early on, I think he surprised most of us. Then of course that horrific injury at Blackburn. He certainly has the temperament & the energy to make it in the top flight, I really do hope he does as he's genuine & one of the game's nice guys.
I really hope his enthusiam and spirit is still there when he returns. It'll take time for his confidence to get back to 100% for sure, but I still believe he is a worthy card in warnies deck.

If the picture of him on the offish is of today hes at training today which is great. It would appear it is as there is no sponsor on his training attire
Which was given to him by that **** Djioff or whatever his name is, before laughing at him whilst he was on the ground. I hope he gets exactly the same injury one day.
