Is that true? I thought that kid had disappeared into oblivion. You'll be telling me they have a £15m bid in for Freddy Adu next.
Bolox & double bolox to all this ........ I'm having a tenner on us winning all 4 games! Decent wins, against Burnley, and we could go into the others full of confidence. Haway Lads, this could pay for my Swansea weekend.
Unbeaten so far, 4 points & 2 more home games to come ............ tomorrow night is such an enormous game it just doesn't bear thinking about. A win could put us level with Everton, who are away at Chelsea, but a defeat would see QPR only 3 points behind. Hull play Villa tomorrow and Burnley start their difficult fixtures away to Man Utd, so it's quite a night. Newcastle are at Palace and currently 7 points ahead of us. I know we have these 'crucial matches' much too often but this is a great chance to create a gap & calm things down before the FA Cup game.
Austin's out inured as well mate, that's got to be a bonus. QPR are there for the taking regardless but without their top scorer, and the fact they've picked up 0 points on the road this season, with your new striker bang in form, you've got to be expecting a goal-fest. 0-0 it is then!
4 points from Burnley and Swansea at least is a good start! QPR with their main men missing should make it a lot easier and hopefully we can stuff em! Watched WBA against Burnley yesterday and they were atrocious, playing the style we were with counter attacking and hopefully sneak a 1-0 Would honestly say WBA is the easier game out of the two Wouldnt surprise me if QPR notch their first away win in so many games against us either! typical thing for us to do! However should really capitalise and get a further 6 points from these 2 imo!
I'm expecting QPR to go '**** or bust' and to see a very open game tbh. They have nothing to lose by coming up and trying to get all 3 points ......... apart from a point obviously. I think the crowd will have to be patient because Poyet will want to isolate the QPR defence where the likes of Hill are woefully slow. If we can shift Barton around , and the crowd wind him up, I think that's how we'll win the game.
A win vs QPR and at Bradford could be the difference between an acceptable season and a very good season I think, something Gus has struggled for is momentum, if he can get a bit of that over the next few weeks (no better time looking at your fixtures) he should get you safe nice and early. It goes without saying, early safety does a world of good for your summer transfer activity.
Spot on mate ............ we couldn't even guarantee our current players PL football until the very end of the season. By the time the window opened we were 2 months behind most clubs.
A very good start to this run of 4 games, I do expect another win tomorrow night and with Alvarez and Defoe getting some games and goals, I am very optimistic about the rest of the season.
It just gets your foot in the door with so many other deals that you'd otherwise come in too late on. The likes of Swansea will be putting graft in now on their summer spending with their big kitty from the Bony sale... West Ham, Southampton also, that has to be the aim to separate yourselves from that pack that pick up the scraps in the summer when the deals have all been snapped up by 'safe' clubs in March/April time.
True, it affects everything. You know which players you can allow to leave if you have replacements lined up. But it can also have an effect on sponsorship deals, corporate sales etc. We need a few seasons when we're safe at Christmas otherwise it's just history repeating season after season.
