It's not all about opinions, it's not even about opinions. It's about results! And there weren't that many performances as inept yesterday's powderpuff stuff last year. We didn't get tonked because Brentford came for a draw.
And their finishing was terrible. If he had a worthwhile forward, we would have lost 3-0, though if that were the case we should have scored at least one.
Just watched their goal on I can quite categorically state it should have benn disallowed for handball in the build up how the linesman missed it is beyond me!Coupled with the fact we had 2 good penalty shouts turned down the fans were correct chanting 1-0 to the ref
Sounds like we were second best anyway. Can't expect the luck to fall your way when your not helping yourself. As for coaches, I really think, even if it is quite unlikely we should be pushing the boat out to get Paul Clement in as manager for next season, give him free reign to sign who he wants with a similar budget to what we have had under Cellino (which hasn't been bad in fairness).
With all respect what does Paul Clement know about the championship nothing whereas Rowett does and has proved how capable he is
Matt re incident with Pearson he obviously wanted to keep him off the field as long as possible I only hope he helps us out again and loans us Knockeart
I don't know what Cellino has actually spent to be honest on signings, that isn't a dig at him. It seems like we 'might' spend a lot if the loans with agreed fee's attached materialise. If we send all the loan signings back we might have a very low wage bill for three months.
Managers Comments Brentford boss Mark Warburton praised referee Graham Salisbury for refusing to be swayed by an intimidating home crowd in the 1-0 win at Leeds United. “The referee came under enormous pressure from the crowd,” Warburton said. “But if you look back at the game without any sound they were not penalties. “We had three one-on-ones in the first half and we dominated the second half, we could have been out of sight. Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn feels Rodolph Austin was outstanding against Brentford on Saturday afternoon, according to BBC Radio Leeds. "I thought Rudy was outstanding for us today. He gives absolutely everything," the 49-year-old Leeds boss said. Explaining his decision to leave 19-year-old playmaker Mowatt out, Redfearn insisted his thinking was purely tactical and nothing to do with Mowatt's form. Billy looked sharp when he came on against Huddersfield and took his goal well," the Leeds boss said when asked what his decision was based on. "He's in a vein of form. We needed a big target man up there with him, so it's just something that we looked at."
Brentford boss isn't entirely wrong. Redders playing sharp was so typical of him, billy nets a goal and is rewarded with a start and is back to being ineffective, he will be dropped on Tuesday inredfearns manage by numbers style. The praise of Austin is pathetic, he was out the door if tonge hadn't said I want out...... I am utterly sick of redfearns pathetic clueless sound bite press comments.... Stfu and stop making yourself look a cnut.
Finally, someone seems to have the same viewpoint as I do. Get in a proper manager (or at the very least a coach with pedigree), let him do his job without getting too involved and sign some bloody British players (or players with experience of the leagues!). I don't think it's any surprise that the best signing by a country mile has been Cooper, with Bamba (who has experience of the Championship) looking likely to be a close second. We don't play the right system for Sharp and to be honest should never have signed him. As for those begging Redders to drop his academy boys and play the foreigners (not pointing fingers here) - why is it that we always think a foreigner is better than an English player? Is Bianchi really that much better than Murphy? He's been as bang average as Murphy has been, and at least he's bucked his ideas up over the past month and put in some decent performances. Cani over Morison? At least Morison has (once upon a time) had a decent goalscoring season. Don't even get me started on Adryan. Never have I seen a more overrated player in my life. Not saying we shouldn't sign a few foreigners - Bellusci has been decent, despite the fact he's a red card liability at times, and I do like the sound of N'Goyi, although I haven't seen him play. How many teams get promoted with a team of foreigners with zero experience of the league? Look at the squads of Bournemouth, Derby and Ipswich - the vast majority of the players are British or have a lot of experience of playing in England. Same applies for Leicester and Burnley last season. One or two foreign signings a season is fine - 12/13 borders on madness.
I know, it's still frustrating though. Especially because Redfearn is destroying his reputation and I genuinely like the guy and everything he's done for the academy, yet Cellino would rather persist with a yes-man like him and potentially get relegated than hire a proven coach who may take a stand once in a while.
Them teams have been built over 3-4 seasons, our fans give them 3-4 games then want to get rid of them.
Leeds were sh***,and Brentford were just as bad Like mentioned they came for a draw and were probably thinking lucky to get that. Goes to to show how far the division between top and bottom of the Championship is Bournemouth ,Derby and Boro are playing fantastic football, with rock solid defences
A Boro fan managed to find the Leeds game being screened in Tenerife or are you back from holiday now.
