So you think Palace will beat us with their amazing new manager and striker! Bet you wish they were at NUFC.

Mike Williamson is an abomination. For what it is worth, we are better than under Pardew. It was never going to be huge strides forward under Carver. Had Perez or Obertan taken their chances, it would have been completely different.

This! We had two clear chances to finish them off and fluffed them. Should have been 3 points.

I have no grievances with JC after that game. He made positive subs to win the game, it wasn't his fault ayoze and obertan ****ed up. The game really had zero urgency though. I thought the fans were extremely quiet as well.

A lot of the noise starts over in the Stawberry Corner but today those boys were quiet. A sharp contrast to Hull away ehich was deafening.
As the 12th man it's important we really get behind the team.
A lotl of players had quiet days today.
For me the MOTM was probably Colo. He mopped up well against some pretty big cloggers.
Perez again impressed as did the Ginger Pirlo, our future captain.

    Hayley McQueen is unbelievably pretty.

Normally games against Stoke are turgid affairs, loads of time wasting and plenty of hoof ball being played.
But, not today, I thought it was a riveting end to end game of football, chances galore.
Disappointing result in the end though <grr>

I was a bit surprised, to hear Carver saying it was average, I can only think he was at a different game.

Tend to agree with Carver if he said game was average. Only seemed to pick up in last 15-20 minutes save for odd exciting moment for the rest of the game.

You were at the game where the black and whites played the red and whites, weren't you?

I thought it was a scrappy affair today. We are the exact same team we were under Pardew. Carver has kept us trying to play football correctly like Pardew, but the quality of our players is limited. Surprised Willo is getting so much ****. Not one of his worst games by any stretch. Abeid needs a rocket mind, as does Obertan. We should have killed the game. Colback was fortunate to stay on but I thought Ireland was too, his intentions were clear from minute one.

This is where Colo is lacking as a captain, he really should have shown some game management and got us organised, keeping the ball. We decided to try and see it out, but were all over shop and had no shape. We were handicapped by missing two great chances of course.

I can't see us coping with resurgent Palace.

I thought Haidara did ok but he didn't let me down. That moment when he tried to control that high ball was schoolboy stuff <laugh>

Oh and Sammy is ****e. I look forward to Obertan getting back in as he looked threatening again, something has clicked with him. Wish we were looking forward to reintroducing Santon too. Streete must be better than Willo? Good? We need quality and SDJ/Aarons can help.

    Perez is high quality

Obertan getting some grief on here. Thought he was okay. He wasn't the "original Obertan and whilst rusty seemed to be continuing with the Mark II Obertan.

Defo. Of course he should have shot or at least found Cisse but that aside he instantly looked better than Gouf, Sammy etc in terms of what we have had to watch while out. i know Cabella was out on his feet, but I'd still have took Sammy off. He was gash and Cabella did ok.

I think it's because Willo didn't do anything well today. The team weren't great, but Willo was woefully out of his depth. The moment he let Walters get in front of him to win a high ball, then turned the wrong way - terrible defending at any level. When he tried a back heel in their end and fluffed it, then tried a cross that just went out for a goal kick - he smiled himself at this, which I guess shows he has a sense of humour, or he realises how **** he really is?! The countless times he hoofed aimless balls forward, which would roll out for a goal kick. I could go on, but it was a turgid performance from 'Iron Mike'.

Haidara scares me. He has moments where he looks competent. Then he tries to be clever at the back and ends up surrendering the ball far too easily, allowing the opposition a simple chance at goal. His touch is awful.

I suspect Palace will be right up for it - Pardew will be really pumped for this one. I think Carver looks like a man who can take a nutting though. :)
