Has this kid done something terribly wrong or something, as i am a strong believer of the fact he is a better keeper than Westwood, dont get me wrong I like Westwood, but i feel he is our back up keeper, Mignolet had a fantastic first season im the premier league for such a young keeper, and will be even better this season i think

I think it's just an age thing, he'll be number one for years to come, but i dare say he barely expected to play last season, if at all.

Having got into the Belgium side, he'll fight for the jersey, always a good thing.

Well i do hope Mignolet is our number 1, while you say he didnt expect to be in the team last season he has certainly proved that he should still remain number 1, or is Westwood really that good??

Well, i haven't seen Westwood to comment, so i'll reserve judgement until then.

I'm just happy we seem covered in a tricky area, when you see teams like Arsenal and Spurs with horror keepers, we are very fortunate to have the option.

It may well be that Mig starts and Westwood has to battle for it, and i'll be fine with that.

Anyone remember the last time we signed "the best young keeper in the championship?"

    Kelvin ****ing Davis.

What a lot of ****e he turned out to be.

Fingers burned once bitten, etc, etc.

    He was ****ing woeful mind.

He pulled off some great saves, but ****ing hell the blunders.

    Truly horrific for us.

Still think that a fit Gordon is better than either of them.

Signs are you are right - think it's a shame tho. If there are doubts as to his future fitness, would Arsenal be interested, or is it just paper talk, do you reckon?

To be fair to Davies - he had one eye looking at you and one looking for you - not great for a keeper!!

Mignolet - whilst I believe he is going to be a good keeper - he was to blame in part for a lot of the bad form in the winless streak last season - looked totally out of his depth at times and when a defence isn't playing well you need a commanding keeper - for me he wasn't it as he was as good with crosses as Dracula. Good shot-stopper but needs to be more commanding and strong.

Westwood, from what I've seen, looks to be able to command his box - I think he will be first choice come the start of the season but having players fighting for the jersey is massively important

It would be a shame, May well be paper talk, who knows? He has proved he is a top class keeper, Does he want to even be at Sunderland, got a gut feeling saying that his heart isnt really in it anymore.

A fit Gordon is better than both, yes... But he's never fit and is on mammoth wages by all accounts.

i think Gordon is going in my opinion
Mignolet made some right cock ups last year Birmingham with him and Bardsley being one and a few he got away with a good keeper for the future though
Number 1 Westwood for me just because of the age, and experience providing gordon goes

All well and good people calling Gordon for being injured, but was he when he first joined us? Westwood is - that bodes well!!

Knew he was out injured, but no-one seems to know the extent of it..

Will he make pre-season? If not it'll be Mig starting the season...

Someone to join the other walking wounded...

I think it is going to be an interesting fight for the goalkeeping position, but I doo suspect that Gordon's days at the club are numbered.
