We do. nothing wrong with playing Mane/Elia there rather than a big man. Just adapt our style slightly. Ron is good enough. We are good enough.
I agree. Get more balls in behind from Davis and JWP, and we have 2 fast runners plus the guile of Tadić to create chances. Plus we can use the wings more, and cut the ball back from the byline.
What we need now is WHU to do one over Man U but bust a gut doing so, then be knackered when they come to us on Wednesday. Easy.
Really chuffed with the final result. I thought as time went on that QPR might nick it like Swansea did. Was driving down the M27 when Saints scored lucky I didn't crash the car!
QPR saying Charlie Austin has a possible broken bone in his foot and Dunne has cruciate ligament damage, that will not help their cause.

Back from the game. As the match progressed we seemed to create less and less. Finishing and a poor final ball were doing us so the winner was a very welcome surprise Forster save was unbelievable. Some serious strength in those arm to almost scope it out of the stadium. Mane was a menace and always looked the most dangerous. Lot of criticism on Pelle here, but he did take a whack on the knee in the first half and he carried on because he has too! As someone else pointed out, our attack today was based on Elia and Mane running in behind him. Our crossing today was really poor and he didn't get a sniff in front of goal because of that. Yes he can also frustrate as he always goes for the clever flick or the more difficult ball instead of holding it up and dropping it off. Fonte was excellent again and made one crucial tackle on Austin in the first half. Gardos came in and grew into the game and looks really good on one on ones. Well done to Yoshi playing out of position. Koeman will have a headache for Left back on Wednesday. I sense 3-5-2
Targett actually might be OK for Wednesday. The stretcher and being taken to hospital was just a precaution. He's got a thumping headache but not much else according to Koeman. Whether he will be risked depends on whether he develops concussion or not.
A classic Chris Kamara moment, 5 minutes into the video http://www1.skysports.com/watch/vid...632/the-story-of-soccer-saturday-7th-febraury
Congratulations fellas. I fought we was good for a point today to be honest. Okay, you lads had more of the ball, I'd expect that. But I felt we stood up well. Oh well, that's football! You're a good team, very composed on the ball even if you weren't at your best today. Go on and take a CL spot from one those fukkers guys. It'd make supporters of all small and mid-sized clubs (except Pompey!) very happy
Don't think anyone would have argued with a point. We hit the woodwork and Forster's great save were the main highlights before the goal. Sherwood is a bit of a gamble, but not really many other managers available who stand out. Hopefully Austin Injury is not too serious. You have the players to stay up. Good luck
New chant born today... Ohhhhhhhhh Koeman loves his mayo He loves it on his chips And when he came to mighty Saints He took us to the top six!
Agree, just copying what someone who was there told me! Someone else said they used S'thampton instead of might Saints, too
"Ohhhhhhhhh Koeman loves his mayo It's what his chips are for And when he came to Southampton He took us to top four!"
I thought we played well against perhaps the best team I've seen at LR this season. Would be delighted to see you lot in the CL, it might even make the six points you took off us this year more palatable! Best of luck for the remainder.
