West Ham United have reportedly identified Queens Park Rangers defender Steven Caulker as a transfer target for this summer's window.

Caulker moved to QPR from Cardiff City before the start of the season, but the club's struggles in their battle to avoid relegation has seen the 23-year-old linked with a number of clubs.

According to The Mirror, QPR rejected an approach from West Ham on transfer deadline day as Sam Allardyce attempted to add to his options for the latter stages of the season.

The Hammers are set to lose Winston Reid on a free transfer at the end of the season, with recent reports suggesting that the New Zealand international had agreed to move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Senegalese defender Kara Mbodj is also rumoured to have been targeted as a possible replacement for Reid.

Get rid, asap. Unless he proves himself with the new manager coming in.

If we want really to develop players he would be exactly the one to keep. Big Sam is no fool on defenders.

    Keep Caulker.

Keep for me. It all depends on whether the 'band of brothers' returns by end of the season / the start of the summer transfer window.

There's one player who knows he's safe next year even if it goes pear-shaped this year.
Nothing like having your player's head turned mid season.

Was the writing on the wall for Harry when he signed Rio against TF's wishes and it went Pete Tong?

keep the younger player and think twice about players such as Rio. If Clint was 10 years younger he would make the ideal player to have as captain and leader. Will be interesting to see how "Tottenhamesq" we become in next few days once managers role is signed and sealed.
