It isn't pedantic to point out someone is totally wrong.

I thought top tax was 75%, leading to people like Depardieu buggering off to Belgium?

Political comments have been deleted, it wasn't meant to spark a political debate, it was merely to show another daft quote from our owner.

The Old Firm - Religion & politics combined.. is that banned?, what about Barcelona and Real (1936 Spanish Civil War)? Lazio & Roma (Fascism vs Communism), Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe (Middle class european side vs Asian working class side).. you cannot keep these things out of football discourse..

Only if it's olm and it's a cheap shot at our owner. Even if it's completely misrepresented.

People seriously need to stop getting childish, petty digs in at the owner, and instead think about all of the good thinks that he has done. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have a club to even change the name of; we wouldn't have the squad we have now; we wouldn't have Bruce; the list can go on...

We certainly wouldn't have the squad we have now or have Bruce if we didn't have a club, can't argue with that.

Well, you aren't right on every occasion. Only a select few of us are. Can't think of any apart from myself to be perfectly honest.

When I lived in the UK the highest tax imposed on high earners was 99.5% and was still 90% when I left in 1966! Believe it dropped to 70% in the early 70's. High earners have it easy these days!

Called "Super Tax" if I recall. No wonder tax havens flourished and the "brain drain" was spawned. Ain't that right Mr B_M_B ?
"Exile on Main Street" comes to mind ('72), but they'd been long time tax exiles by then. The following article suggests it was 93% even in 71 when they were in the S of France composing the album.

When I started work in 1967 the basic rate of tax was 42%.
