I'm sure a lot of managers wouldn't like to work with Head of Footballing Operations either if they knew it was just an e-mail signature change apart from Director of Football. I think that kind of structure supports coaches rather than managers and, the way it's been stated by TF, a coach seems nearer to requirements. I'd also say that would rule out most established British managers but might support an up and coming one or someone from abroad. My opinion is that the DOF does the buying and I wish we'd had one when Ray Wilkins was spunking the Les Ferdinand money before....
Difficult to say Eamon, I personally don't like the role, it clashes and overlaps with the managers job too much. However, it depends on the DOFs remit and powers, TF stated the role was to develop the club (football wise), especially bringing through new players from the youth system, you could take this as looking after\improving the football facilities (training ground Etc), youth system and enabling the Manager to do his job. He didn't say the role would be responsible for all signing to the club or the running of the first team. With out more knowledge I can't really, but for a first time manager it could be boon having someone to help out\lean on.

in the article he says he wont leave mid season, so let Bond & Ramsey do it till the season ends then get Clement in with a full pre season, problem solved.
I, too, don't mind waiting to the end of the season but I wouldn't be waiting for Clement. He's never been a manager and the Premier League is no place to serve your apprenticeship. There is no candidate available at the moment who is totally convincing: who knows who might be available in the Summer?
And that person will be Sherwood, rather take a chance on getting Clement than being lumbered with sherwood

I dont think Sherwood will keep us up, but as it seems he's almost nailed on to get it, of course i want him to succeed
