2:25 Hunt - HARRISTOWN 12/1 Don/Stick - whats the story fellas? Are we taking the plunge? Surely worth an eway poke?
He really hated the ground last time, it was the worst they've had there for a very very long time according to the course vet probably the worst. Charlie D really looked after him and pulled him up pretty quickly which was good as he never went a yard. Noel rides as we want to find out a bit more about him and work out where he is and what's next for him. He won the Chatteris Fen Juvenile Hurdle a year to the day ahead of Baradari so likes the course. We know he can handle the soft ground at huntingdon. He's the outsider of the field and he's 14-1 for a reason! I fear Dubawi Island and Midnight Appeal back over hurdles. Obviously APs looks very unexposed although the 2nd horse in the Cheltenham race hasn't done much and question marks about whether it will like the ground. With the week i've had he will be pulled up..... but he won here at 20-1!
Thanks Don!! I think the price is too good to pass up even if this is considered a 'fact finding' mission. He was progressing well up until last weeks blip and I'm sure that's all that was, especially with the reports of him hating the ground. Once again, thanks Don and best of luck!!
No problem Drever. Hope you are right at it was just a blip. I think a step up to 2m 6f will be the next move unless he wins or goes up enough to sneak into the coral cup.
Good luck with Harristown Don. As Drever says has to be worth a little ew poke. Assuming the fixture survives the inspection.
As I am never one to miss adding his twopennorth. HARRY won on this card last year and we know that he is in rude health at home. Although pulled up last week he really didn't have a hard race. He wouldn't be 14-1 tomorrow if he hadn't run like that last week. He barely went a step in that awful ground at Wincanton. First time Fehily has been on him this season and I am sure he will get maximum encouragement. Last week was a real shock to the system as he really was heading the right way. This looks his easiest task of the season to date in my eyes and I for one am expecting a big run. The corner has to be turned at some point huh!
Two others I also fancy over at Taunton tomorrow... 1:35 - WITHY MILLS 16/1 3:10 - SHANNAN STAR 9/1 Going for gold so I've stuck them in an eway trixie with HARRISTOWN 12/1.
All the very best with Harristown Stick and The Don for your horses sake I will leave it alone for betting purposes!
Stick / Don ... I'm pushing the force towards HARRRISTOWN today .. will be on with the E/W thieves and cheering on a forum favorite ...thanks for sharing the info andf hope you have a winning day out .... the corner must be turned today surely !!!
Morning all I know it's not Saturday yet but I think Paul Nicholls will have a couple of winners at Taunton today. Backed all 3 runners in doubles and a treble. I too wish the Don/Stick good luck with Harristown.
All the best with Harristown today, troops. Good to see you’ve engaged a proper pilot in ‘Touchy’ Fehily. He’ll do you proud don’t you worry about that. Good to see NH action back. I was going to start a collection for McCoy as we can’t have him going without earnings now can we?!? However, old girl Mother Nature has relented and it would appear that I no longer need to. Mr Henderson, the forum’s favourite trainer, has just the one runner today and that is NEW HORIZONS at Taunton (2.05). Shockingly, this one is a 20/1 shot. Had one run in a bumper when finishing 2nd but has hardly set the world alight in 2 subsequent runs over hurdles. However, both of those efforts were over 21 furlongs and today Mr Henderson drops the old boy in trip by half a mile to a similar distance to which he ran on his bumper debut. This tactic allied to the work of the great man’s ‘magic hands’ ought to bring about significant improvement and I can see New Horizons rewarding each-way support at a tidy price this afternoon. Good luck, pilgrims.
I really like the Jonjo JP and McCoy horse in Harristown's race. Thought he ran a stormer at HQ and needs a win here to get a higher mark to get into a festival hcap
Ok time to release you all to place your bets so the ones to avoid (the ones Im backing) Huntingdon 155 Nordic Nymph 225 Forthefunofit 335 Iniesta Meydan 355 Yodelling 505 Ahzeemah 540 African Story football: Ghana ht/ft Ghana -1 and -2 Happy punting!
Afternoon all! Not been around for ages. New site looks smart Nice to see all the same faces still around Hope you are all well A few I like at Huntingdon today for an ew L15 1:55 - El Indio 20/1 - Up in trip (has gone well in two starts over 3m) and Aiden on board. Might well be a no show but there are fairly major doubts about most of them in the race. 15:00 - Fergal Mael Duin 9/2 - Not disgraced last two starts in fairly hot handicaps. A weaker race this against more exposed types. 15:35 - Ultimate Act 8/1 - Very novicey on debut but managed to grind out a win, can improve a long way on that. Direct form lines with the favourite puts him close, not keen on 2nd favourite. aaaand I will stick forum favourite Harristown in
