Rio was rapid in his prime. That was one his prime assets.

It really isn't hard. If someone with the ability of Ferdinand failed in the Premier League playing in centre midfield because he was a centre back what makes you think Maguire could play centre midfield

you can't compare two players like that though, seriously if I see Magire play in midfield and think yeah he's no good, I will give you my apologies but I can't just sit there and compare him to Rio Ferdinand lol

Maguire doesn't seem that fast at all to me. No idea where you got that from.

Also Robertson was a full back at Dundee, he really isn't a good example of someone playing out of position for us.

I think people do fuss over a player's 'correct' position too much, but unless you can actually offer any reasoning as to why he'd make a good midfielder, no one's gonna take it seriously.

I'd say of our defenders, Chester is the most suited to a midfield role. But to be honest I'd rather Tom just sort himself out and Jake carry on as he is. If we need an alternative, Quinny is the man.

Having Maguire as our deep lying midfielder/third centre back can't be any worse than having Huddlestone in that position, at least we'd see some effort.

Yeah you're bang on the money tigerpants, don't listen to these other ****ers pal, they're just jealous that you came up with the idea first, and yeah I've always thought that Maguire is much faster than Ferdinand was in his prime, plus Maguire wouldn't fit through a dressing room window so it obviously follows that he has to be quicker.

Think we should play fly goalie, Mcgregor would make an excellent midfield enforcer

And we could stick McGuire in goal. After all, he's taller than McGregor so should have no problem catching those david silva blasts heading for the top corner

I'd rather Livermore play the holding role and have quinny back in and go back to 3 5 2 with livermore quinn and ramirez the 3 in midfield cos both huddlestone and meyler are struggling to find decent form based on their last few games

Robertson did play full back for Dundee, and Bale played left back for Southampton, now he plays left wing for real madrid, you don;t have a point. Maguire is Pacey he seems to read the game well and I think if we are getting no reaction from Huddlestone, it would be worth trying him in midfield.

Did you not see him breaking up the pitch against Arsenal? ..well for one Chester is injured but yeah either him or Maguire, I coudln't say which player is suited to a deep midfield role because I haven't seen either player in that position! :/

I've not just sat here tonight and thought of any old player. obviously Maguire is struggling for game time, Huddlestone lacks the effort but we need somebody who is big, strong & pacey in midfield and can hold the ball. from what I have seen from Maguire he seems to have all these things, Bruce has non of these things, infact he struggles to find a man at times and dives in too much, stupid idea.

I know we haven't seen alot from Maguire and that is evident from your lack of knowledge of him, comparing him to Ferdinand & Bruce. I truly believe that Maguire in a deeper midfield role with 2 attacking midfielders in front, could work! I'm only saying to try it for the last 20 mins while huffstone has a breather on bench!

Does it work on FIFA? If it does we should seriously give it some thought.

We've had enough problems this season with playing people out of position, the last thing we should be doing is adding to them.

Switch to 3-5-2, with Meyler and Livermore holding and with Quinn or Ramirez behind the two strikers and we're at least going to get the best out of the players available.
