It was probably the agreed line with all parties to save face, after all Harold has his reputation or what's left of it, to protect and to ensure that he gets a nice cushy job in a TV studio and TF doesn't want to be seen as having sacked a 3rd manager in 3 years. I don't for one minute think that anyone actually believes the cock and bull story of the dodgy knees........
Redknapp is a strange character. At 67 years old, he seems less mature than my 9-year old son when it comes to being truthful in his dealings and in terms of being able to admit to mistakes and weaknesses. He is a bizarre man-child, making up massively implausible fibs rather than lose face. In doing so, he looks such a chump. Fair enough. Some people never grow up. What is mysterious to me is the extent to which football journalists fail to challenge his glaringly obvious nonsense. How come he's not actually laughed at in press conferences and called out when telling porkies?
...I'm sure we've all told a few porkies in life to save face, get out of a situation etc. Not sure why Harry should get as much stick for doing so, if indeed it is a get out. Those without sin etc etc.
I guess I just haven't met many people who fib so transparently on such a regular basis. Not adults, anyway.

Watched the Harold interview and now and only now he is calling us us A man with that amount money can't get a couple of knees done ... my late father had his done each one and he was walking in two weeks
He's a pathological liar. It's an illness. He even invents stuff to tell self deprecating 'humourous' anecdotes. How he can be in demand to give his view about anything says more about the state of our pathetic media than anything else I can think of.

Not me, i will support the new manager and the club. I think most of the posters are now actually seeing what Harry is like. The more i listen to him and the more i read about him the more i think we were mad to get him in as manager. Levi knew thats why he got rid. The press are also now finding out what he is really like.
The interesting thing is that Amit Bhatia (the subject of the thread) doesn't appear to agree with all the vitriol of the posters on this thread. In fact, its quite the opposite.
He's treated as some sort of Arfur Daley-like figure in football circles, too nice to do a hatchet-job on. One or two were beginning to question his judgement recently which probably made his knees play up...
