Is he starting to assume the reins? I've seen a few things recen tly which seem to point to the fact that he's 'stepping up' A couple of examples: http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015...els-has-been-hulls-main-problem-this-season/? http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Ehab...-relegation/story-25967915-detail/story.html? I wonder if Assem is preparing to fade into the background? Could it be their way of handling defeat over the FA's ruling?

Ehab Allam: Hull City doing everything to beat relegation from Premier League please log in to view this image Hull City's vice-chairman believes signing of Dame N'Doye and arrival of Mike Phelan demonstrates intent, but admits threat of relegation cannot be ignored, writes Philip Buckingham. EHAB Allam believes the £3m signing of Dame N'Doye can help Hull City avoid the drop and become a mid-table side in the Premier League. But with the Tigers first facing up to a battle for survival this season, the club's vice-chairman admits the grim threat of relegation cannot be ignored. City's survival hopes were given a timely boost on transfer deadline day when N'Doye finally completed a protracted switch from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow. The 29-year-old striker, who signed a two-and-a-half-year deal, will provide manager Steve Bruce with a new attacking dynamic for the run-in, but also proved to be City's only major signing. That was in stark contrast to last summer, when almost £40m was spent on 10 new arrivals, but a precarious position at the foot of the table has called for a pragmatic approach from the board. "In the past few months, we have been thinking we're at serious risk of relegation," he told the Mail. "We're doing everything we can to avoid that, including bringing in a new assistant in Mike Phelan, but there's that risk. "In times like these you do need to put together some disaster planning to try and think ahead. There's no point ignoring what might happen. "When you try and invest to improve the team there's always going to be risk, but we feel we would be in a position where we could be well prepared for the Championship if that were to happen. "It's not a nice way to have to think but we have consider it seriously. "It's always tough for any club after relegation. We found that out ourselves when we took over the club (in 2010) so it's important to ensure that under our reign we will minimise some of the risks." Having inherited what former chairman Adam Pearson called a "financial basket case" in 2010, in the wake of relegation from the top flight, the Allam family have been determined to avoid the same pitfalls. As well as inserting relegation clauses into the contracts of all arrivals since promotion in 2013, players have been recruited with the potential for a sell-on value. N'Doye was no different as City stuck to their guns during negotiations, before a deal was struck with just minutes to spare. The Senegal international could make his debut at the Etihad Stadium this weekend and Allam believes the new arrival, coupled with returning injury victims, can put the Tigers' season back on track. "N'Doye is a great addition and can only help us," he said. "With a fully-fit squad, we are definitely a mid-table team. Our problem has been the number of injuries. "N'Doye gives us another option up front and if injuries occur again, we've got another striker of a similar standing. "It might sound stupid but this squad still needs some time to gel. It might be a strong squad on paper but we've not had a consistent team all season. "Every week, changes have been enforced. It's a different starting XI each week – it's been ridiculous. "That doesn't help the team so hopefully, with everybody back and fit, we can climb up the table." http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Ehab...tory-25967915-detail/story.html#ixzz3QlaFhUOo
This is reassuring. I feared the club would implode if relegated. It seems there is a coherent plan in place if our season culminated in the ultimate 'disastered resultate'.
Do you think the Allams would admit now that relegation would be financially catastrophic? It isn't the message to send now as they try to infuse some positivity, but that doesn't mean everything will be ok financially if we go down. I wonder what the forward planning for appeal rejection is, given previous 'I'll walk away within 20 minutes' bullshit.
Erm....Assem fades into the background (= retires) and Ehab steps up (= non-toxic) We all start again.........
Relegation wouldn't be all that bad. It would mean we could use our young players and a chance to get rid of the dead wood we have acquired. In all honestly we will probably have to sell the likes of Jelavic (£3m), Huddlestone (£4m), Chester (£5m), Robertson(£5m), McGregor (£1m), Dawson (£1m) and a few others to reduce our wage bill, we could maybe recoup approx £15m-£20m for them? . I wouldn't say we would need to sign too many players, we could promote a few from the youth team and bring in a few youngsters from top 6 clubs in the Premier League and start again. A team like this would be competitive in the Championship: New Keeper (I'd say Butland but he would be too expensive) Rosenior-Maguire-Davies-Townsend Elmo- Livermore- Chalobah- Quinn- Brady N'Doye Oxley, McShane, Meyler, Clark, Margetts, Ince, Hernandez.
Of the players we've spent serious money on, Jelavic is probably the only one we'd get all our money back on.
They were adamant they'd sell up. Things change, and sometimes the message drifts in translation, especially if it's not from the horses mouth. Amazing how they don't market the talking horse.
I'm sure he would if Assem Allam became seriously ill or died. (Not wishing it upon him at all) Ehab does seem to have the same ideology of his Father, however he does seem as arrogant and adamant as Assem Allam. Possibly he could swallow his pride and realise the name change won't happen, and for the good of the club stop this madness that has divided our club for over a year and a half now.
Ehab doesn't believe this name change nonsense will raise any revenue, any more than we do, he just won't go against his father.
I think Robertson still has a way to go before he proves he's worth a lot of money, but we'd certainly make money on the others, I'd be gutted if Chester went.
Load of complete tosh. The youngsters aren't ready, most of them aren't even being loaned out to the football league. We went down with far better youngsters and they weren't good enough. A lot of people expected Cairney, Cullen and Cooper to become first team members pretty quickly but it never happened for any of them. You figures for selling are completely out too. When you look at the values of players last season, we would easily get our money back on Jelavic. He'll probably go on to score 10+ goals for us this season, Ulloa cost Leicester £8m, so we should be able to get a similar figure. Jelavic guarantees you goals. As Ehab said, we wouldn't need to sell so it would depend on the player's mindset and also if we got a suitable offer, it wouldn't be a firesale that's for sure!
He doesn't say we wouldn't need to sell, if we are relegated, we'll definitely be selling several players.
Complete tosh? How? I have put one youngster in the team in Townsend, who has done well up in Scotland for a top 4 side in the league. Robertson made the jump from Scottish Premiership to Premier League, I'm sure Townsend can manage the Championship if he is given time. Jelavic will be 30 in the summer, I very much doubt we would make a profit on him. Taking into account this reoccurring knee injuring he has picked up this season, we'd be lucky to get back what we paid for him. Do you not realise when a team gets relegated not everyone is going to be throwing millions at our players? In an ideal world we could get £30m for them all, but we wouldn't be in a position to hold onto them as we need to reduce the wage bill. Everyone knows you can get a bargain from a relegated team. Snodgrass was the only player from Norwich to come out with his head held high, we paid £8m for him and at the time he was 26, arguably in his "prime". In all honesty, I can't recall him having any major injuries or lots of niggly injuries so he was never injury prone. Compare him to a player 4 years older, who has a dodgy knee, you can't say we will get more then £7.5m for him. In an ideal world we would keep him, but his 55k approx a week wages wouldn't go down well in the Championship. He'll be sold at a loss just to get him off the wage bill...
