I've always maintained that with the right signings we could get top 4 this season. Now the January window is shut where do people think we'll finish?

I've gone for 5th. The thing that concerns me is the pursuing pack. Arsenal are now in the position that they could jump over us even if they get the same points because they have cut into the GD gap. I haven't given up on top 4, but think it could be very hard having lost our advantage. We could do very well with few points in it, but still end up 5th or 6th.

I'll go for 6th or 7th. I still think United n Arsenal are nailed on for 3rd and 4th. that leaves us Spurs and Liverpool and with those still in cup competitions I am hopeful we can finish above one of them.

The next few weeks will be telling...the usual suspects are starting to get results. Can we hold our own...wouldn't like to have to play catch up. What a great season this has been anyway.

Third for me still, just because we lost against Swansea doesn't mean we will continue to lose. We have a decent run of fixtures still to come so if we win a decent percentage, we could still nick an automatic place.

Hope you are right...got to start with a victory against QPR (preferably with lots of goals) and Arsenal and Spurs to draw.

Out of the current top 6 the only team who have deserved to beat us are Man City. Apart from that we are all square against Arsenal and Man U, although both were slightly fortunate to beat us, and we just about deserved a draw at home to Chelsea. Because anything can happen in football I think we'll get something out of at least one of our games at Stamford Bridge and the Etihad, and we'll beat Spurs and Liverpool at home.

    So 3rd then.

Or even 2nd at a push. Seriously though, we know that top 4 is perfectly possible. Just need to have as many people fit as possible. Any team will have their dreams dashed if they aren't equipped with the right personnel at the right times.

Yes, why no options for 1st or 2nd in the poll?

6th or 7th for me, still feel the same as I did about 6 weeks ago. There was a very slight chance that Liverpool/Spurs/Arsenal would keep doing as poorly and now they appear to have turned the corner, especially Spurs who have been ****ing terrible performance wise this season, but keep grinding out results. I just don't feel we will be as consistent as them for the last 15 games or so, and we now don't have much of a point cushion over them.

With squad depth the bigger clubs are able to really go on big runs when they hit their straps. For us a 4 game winning streak in the league is very good but for the others they can go and win 7-8 on the bounce and probably expect to. Whatever happens its been a great season and we will smash our points tally for last year but I think we will end up 5th.

I'm aware that my view swings wildly. If we had beaten Swansea, I would have wondered if we mght finish 2nd. But based on our loss and Arsenal winning so heavily has made me all doom and gloomy. Plain ridiculous on a single weekend.

All we really need is another 'injury cluster-feck' and we'll be struggling as we have been.

We rode our luck a bit recently and in the last two games it has deserted us somewhat but as a long-time Saints fan it is hard for me to believe we are going to keep going well until the season's end.

A [unthinkable] defeat at QPR will really stir the pot and could result in a crisis of confidence but a big win would have the reverse effect.

Therefore it's hard to call but being a natural 'Saints pessimist', from experience not nature, I feel we have enough about us to finish 7th or 6th - we'll need to knuckle down, play consistently and start putting away our chances - after all we aren't going to get the luxury of six or seven every game.

I have a horrible feeling that the results we would all love to see against Liverhampton and the Spuds at home are not going to go the way we want and that may have a big bearing on confidence too - especially amongst the support.

At my most pessimistic I can see a poor display and biggish defeat against Liverpool or Spurs - there is no real reason for this but I am feeling very nervous about these games.

Do you really need me to answer that? To suggest we could finish in the top 2 is ridiculous, I'm not sure how anyone can say otherwise (Bar TSS - who we all expect it from :p )

We're also a serious injury to Pelle away from a massive slide down the table imo. Do you see us making 6 points up on City? Or 11 on Chelsea??

I'm genuinely not sure if you're serious or not...
