I can't bloody wait i tells ya!! Next season and my thoughts on our squad.

Just been hearing the news that Ben Arfa is 100%, the squad is coming together nicely. The new lads have bought houses in the Toon, everyone seems to be happy, and we have a nice set of friends at the club to improve chemistry within the squad.

I just can't wait for the new season, to see how our new team is going to play out. Losing Nolan was a bit of a disappointment, but if he wasn't happy on his current deal, then **** it, i appreciate what you've did Kev but anyone who offers a man of your current pace or fitness a 5 year deal on 50k+ a week is mental.

I'd love to keep Enrique, but i expect he'll be gan soon. As long as we don't let anyone else from the good set of players leave, i'll be happy. Nolan wasn't going to get into the first team anyway, so Enrique will be the only really big miss i suppose, but i reckon we will replace him with a decent enough LB. I think if we really want this Cheick bloke from France, then we should offer perhaps 10 million for him, since his club have turned us down twice, as they are expecting interest from PSG and Lille. He must be worth it. I doubt we'll get Baines.

I'd like to sign Erdinc, but i hope Ba and Erdinc aren't Pardew's big answer to our strike force situation. I think Ba is a good strikers, but i fear about his fitness, and Erdinc looks like he may take a bit of time adjusting to this league. And if you think about it, if we lose one or perhaps both, then it's back to the same **** from last year.

Anyway, i'm confident that Pardew wont stop after Erdinc and a left back. I think it's important to get these strikers in training and in pre-season games as fast as possible, to tell if they're the real deal, because if we wait until the last minute to bring strikers in, we could end up being extremely disappointed if they don't work out, and it will be too late to get another one in.

I'm busting a nut in excitement waiting for next season, but i have my worries also.

I agree with most of what you said, although I wont be bothered if we dont get Erdinc as you said he may take a while to adjust and reminds me of Tuncay, I hope we get another quality Striker maybe even spending 15/20 mil on him, LB (if enrique goes) and RB to challenge Simpson as i dont rate Perch or R.Taylor ( dont think many do)

 

I agree. I think Erdinc would be a decent signing, but i wont be heartbroken if we don't get him. I'm still on and off thinking about Sturridge tbh. He could end up being worth the money.

He has the right to make as many topics as he pleases and theres nothing wrong with making topics that are basically about the same thing...hes excited he just wants to make a topic as an outlet for that excitement, nothing wrong with that.

Yeah in all honesty I wouldnt mind if we paid 15mil for Sturridge, he was easily the best and most creative player in the England under21 team (It could be argued that doesnt say much but still) He was class for Bolton last season, and if teams are paying around 10mil for Connor Wickam and 35 for Carroll then I suppose thats what you have to pay....although the chances of it happening are low
