Cousins ran straight past Luzon and celebrated with someone in the crowd.

JBG had a good game by his recent standards I thought, shows how poor we been lately.
Cousins was dire apart from his goal. Taking Igor off was the point for me when I decided it will take a lot more than I thought to have me back Luzon, why play 1 striker at home to 21st in the table?
Play was negative, we were poor, lack of all ability seemingly.
How is this our 4th manager now to play Cousins on the left where he is clearly more effective in the centre.

JBG, TBH, Solly and Keeper only postives today for me.

oh and was a blatant penalty for handball too, or at least what I could see from the other end, Rotherham very unlucky not to have a pen. Frazer Richardson had a good game storming up and down the right too, only player of theirs I took note of.

absolutely shocking performance today. every sub was a mistake, we needed two up top to keep the pressure off the defence. everyone boo'd when it was announced vetokele was going off. him and watt together could be something to fear, but they're not given the chance.
the spurs guy was playing ok, bringing on baldy mark 2 was needless.
gomez coming on invited the pressure. luzon, going by his tactics and demeanour in the technical area were an embarrassment.

where are the "powell out" brigade now?? i'd love to go back to having a squad that had a bit of fight in them. might not have been the best technically, but they didnt embarrass us like this bunch of benefit cheats do.

absolutely disgusted with today. the crowd will never sing luzon's name. they will never have a reason to sing a network players name - they will never be good enough to earn one.

i've also made my mind up about the renewal of the season ticket and valley gold. i'll go to the odd game when they give out free tickets, but for me personally, its going to be "no, i'll be back when roland dies / or we get new owners".

To be fair SIG, a lot of this stuff was going on under Powell. Players out of position, and the team cowering deep. Cousins out wide has been going on so long you begin to wonder if there is another motivation involved. The comments I found most annoying were those about Buyens hiding from the ball and making himself unavailible for passes. There's two days left in the transfer window, and if that is true, I want Buyens out of here. We'll need players who are prepared to dig in and fight, not cowards, so I hope Luzón shifts him out of here now. i'm still guted they equalised, but deep down, the worst is that a point was the least they deserved by all accounts, and that's us at home to the team in 21st place.

i have no problem with rotherham getting a deserved point. what i have a problem with is what roland is doing and who he is making luzor pick.

look at what we had - hamer (prem), poyet (prem), morrison (above us), kermit (soon to be prem), smith (scoring 20+ this year), scp (above us). even bob and riga gained a bit of respect and 'cos of that, they were dismissed. the year before he bought us, we were 8th. we needed 2 or 3m to become a team pushing for promotion. we're now just embarrassing. we'd get our arses kicked in league 1 or 2 on yesterdays performance.

Great read, thanks Dick. This line pretty much sums us up perfectly:

'Still, the fate of the Charlton follower is to look back at the way things were.'

The only positive which I take from this match is that it appears the fans have had enough. There was the first chant of "Roland Roland you're a c***", albeit by a solitary fan, who replied "I'm sorry, but he is", to someone. If Roland stands by Luzon I don't see how we can stay up. We started off with one striker in the team, and one striker on the bench, which did not bode well, and the atmosphere was eerily flat. We were not like a team which wanted to win, more like a collection of individuals doing just enough. In the second half I was glad Cousins scored because although not much came off for him he at least showed a bit of passion. The substitutions were a disgrace, and have already been described. Someone described the atmosphere as being a bit like pardew's last days, maybe it was also a bit like Uncle Les' last days. Luzon described himself as "the kind of guy who loves to win, hates to lose", and it looks like he's not going to enjoy his time in SE7, however long that may be. I'm afraid Roland may well stick with him whatever, because he knows he'll do what he's told, and that is more important than results, as Roland proved when he sacked Riga. It's getting difficult to watch.

That also explains why a 30 year old Belgian woman with no previous experience of British football, running or even supporting a football club is our Chief Executive......." yes Mr Roland, no Mr Roland..... what do you want me to do next Mr Roland"

The problem is, we'll be left with a stadium full of season ticket holders only, and banners with ROLAND OUT, and protests over Luzon. They'll look at revenue generated, and you'll just see a sharp decline in the excel chart, more so after he took over.

He'll finally realise that he's made grave errors, and either try to correct them or sell the club... Anyway I found this which amused me.

Also, everything about Guy Luzon infruriates me. He has no passion, no charisma and good awful to understand!

No redeeming features whatsoever. I can remember when Pardew left and there being a thread on probably the old 606 and I think I said something along the lines of the new manager (pre-head coach days) has to have an association with the club or show an understanding of the passion; I could never have imagined engaging with a Gary Megson or a Danny Wilson or a Brian Laws on the touch line. In comparison now I'd jump at them; at least they understand British football.

I'd always found the notion of Steve Evans vile until yesterday. He clearly gets every pound of average ness from his average squad and he gets them going in a way they respond to. That's mostly because he's had time to build that team up and cultivate a character.

It's chicken and egg with Charlton head coach and squad; neither care about the other because they know there's no longevity to the cause, and in between is the actual club rotting away.

I've only been going since the mid 90's, but this is by far the worst state I've seen this club in.

Walking away from the ground yesterday was the most miserable I've been, and it looked like I wasn't the only one. I don't know where we go from here. I can't see us getting anyone of note in within the next 24 hours.

Another opportunity to not let the fans down, RD...
